Job description: Mygration is engaged by our client based in Winnellie, NT, 0820 to recruit a skilled candidate for the following position: Web Designer with a base salary starting from $76,500 to $86,000 depending on skill level – Excluding Superannuation.Our Client is the largest supplier of audio, lighting, staging, and vision in the Northern Territory. With thousands of events delivered across the NT-from remote locations to major venues-Our Client specializes in live production and premium event execution. Through continued investment in world-class production equipment, Our Client is committed to growing the NT events industry.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with clients, marketing teams, and project managers to define project goals, brand guidelines, and technical requirements.
- Present design concepts and gather feedback to refine solutions.
2. Research & UX/UI Analysis
- Conduct research on industry trends, target audiences, and competitor websites to inform design strategies.
- Analyse user behaviour and functional needs to optimize site navigation, accessibility, and responsiveness.
3. Concept Development & Prototyping
- Brainstorm and develop innovative design concepts that align with client objectives and creative standards.
- Create wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes to visualize website structure and user flows.
4. Visual Design & Branding
- Design high-fidelity layouts, graphics, and UI elements (icons, buttons, etc.) that enhance aesthetics and usability.
- Select typography, colour palettes, and imagery to reinforce brand identity.
5. Collaboration & Feedback Integration
- Partner with developers, content creators, and sales teams to ensure designs are feasible and aligned with project timelines.
- Iterate on designs based on stakeholder input and usability testing.
6. Material & Technology Selection
- Recommend tools, platforms, and media (e.g., CMS, animations, plugins) to balance functionality and visual impact.
- Ensure designs are optimized for performance, SEO, and cross-device compatibility.
7. Design Documentation & Handoff
- Prepare detailed style guides, design specs, and assets for developers to ensure accurate implementation.
- Maintain organized files and documentation for future reference.
8. Production Oversight
- Assist in the execution of approved designs, ensuring consistency across all deliverables.
- Conduct quality checks to verify design integrity during and post-development.
9. Project Archiving & Knowledge Management
- Archive completed project assets, source files, and client communications for future updates or reuse.
- Contribute to internal design library and best practices.
DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch).
- Strong understanding of UX/UI principles, responsive design, and web standards.
- Experience with HTML/CSS (basic knowledge is a plus).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Portfolio showcasing web design projects.
- 2 years of fulltime experience as a Web Designer or Similar roll.
- Relevant standard qualifications or equivalent.
