About the Team:

The Growth Marketing Team leads the company’s efforts to acquire new eaters across a variety of channels. This is more than the ambition of expanding audiences, increasing traffic and conversion rate whilst keeping CAC low. CookUnity has an incredible chef-driven story to tell—and a mind-blowing, must-taste product to introduce to the world. And because of this, the sky is the limit in crafting an alluring proposition and leveraging magnetic content. We have an incredible mission, as a marketing team, to not simply shake up the known Weekly Meal Plans and On-Demand Food Delivery categories, but usher in a new era of the chef-centric marketplace.

The role:

We’re looking for a VP of Growth Marketing who will develop and execute strategies that generate new leads and consumers through online marketing campaigns. You will be in charge of the acquisition marketing, attribution and analytics, strategic management, campaign execution, new channel discovery and experimentation, and optimization across channels. You will also be responsible for leadership of the Growth Marketing team, day-to-day tactical and strategic operations, as well as support sales and marketing analytics to drive performance improvements across the business.

As the VP of Growth Marketing, you will own online marketing programs that will enable us to exceed our acquisition targets, sales, margin, and overall goal achievement. You’ll also build strategies and oversee optimization and measurement of eater acquisition, cross-sell initiatives, and re marketing in order to deliver incremental sales, and enable consumer loyalty.

This person will be primarily responsible for scaling and accelerating user acquisition (of the right customers) at efficient CACs. User acquisition ignites the CookUnity flywheel enabling us to add more chefs to the platform which in turn add more variety of amazing dishes which drives happier customers with higher retention and virality. CookUnity has best in class retention in the category and this role will lead the set of strategies to accelerate the flywheel by scaling acquisition.

To stand out in a crowded category, CookUnity has found that chefs enable higher quality and much wider variety. We now want Marketing to leverage that differentiation in creating unique funnels for all the different segments of food lovers out there looking for a superior way of eating effortlessly.

Our ideal candidate is an expert in creating experimentation frameworks to leverage supply-demand optimization by building a content experimentation machine & hundreds landing pages. We’re not just looking for someone to run a playbook. Success for this role will be to help build the playbook. We are looking for a proactive leader, overseeing the strategy, planning, and execution of the growth marketing function.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up frameworks to create successful funnels leveraging our unique content (real chefs and widest variety). Design an acquisition mix that is truly user centric and where supply and demand meets.
  • Media buying to bring traffic that converts to new users that meet our growth targets.
  • Define and optimize paid media campaigns for customer acquisition across channels. Scaling proven channels and exploring new ones.
  • Monitor and optimize Payback period of each cohort of users making the necessary adjustments in quality of acquisition.
  • Lead the CRM team in developing and optimizing email and sms funnels.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Marketing team in creating all the necessary ownable content using our content studio in Brooklyn, NY.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Marketing team in pushing a cohesive positioning and storytelling across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Oversee the day-to-day tasks of the Growth Squad, in creating all the necessary landing pages and funnels.
  • Identify, test and scale new media formats and marketing approaches.
  • Partner closely with Branding, Product, Design, and Customer Experience to integrate customer marketing programs into all customer touchpoints.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8+ years Marketing experience driving customer acquisition across marketing channels (PPC, Display, Paid Search, Paid Social, Retargeting, etc) at a DTC company – startup experience preferred
  • Has experience being part of a senior leadership team and thus has broader business competency beyond marketing
  • You worked at a company growing above $500M+ ARR and at 50%+ YoY for multiple years
  • Demonstrated ability to operate successfully in a time-sensitive and fast-paced environment. You have a dynamic and experimental approach to problem solving. You embrace a growth mindset to continually test assumptions
  • Experience demonstrating data insights (KPI’s, traffic, revenue, conversions, ROI) to improve marketing efforts
  • Proven experience building and executing direct and digital marketing campaigns for a business in a highly competitive and complex environment.
  • Personal passion for community and are motivated to encourage others by a deep connection to CookUnity’s mission and core values

Preferred requirements:

  • Experience working with ad-serving platforms and digital monitoring tools, as well as offline marketing tools and strategies as well.
  • Understanding of the food-tech space
  • Has experience with and know how to work in Founder-run company.

Compensation

All final pay rates will be determined by candidates experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

Pay Range for this position

$300,000—$340,000 USD
