Job description: What’s the role?Video producer – entertainment and lifestyleWe are looking for an experienced Video Producer to join our Entertainment Network team, with a core focus on creating premium vodcast content and social video content. You’ll be working on some of Australia’s most watched and listened to vodcasts, including I Catch Killers and Something To Talk About, as well as longform interview specials, true crime series, and investigative video features for news.com.au and Stellar behind the scenes content.This role is ideal for a video professional with a passion for entertainment and lifestyle storytelling, from behind-the-scenes celebrity content to compelling reels and video-first social storytelling. Reporting to the Video Content Director, you’ll be embedded in a dynamic, fast-paced team that’s redefining how audiences consume digital video.Candidates will have a keen eye for visual storytelling, and the skills to deliver high-quality video content under tight deadlines. You will be responsible for working with the Entertainment Network team to produce compelling and tailor made content for a variety of platforms including on-platform, YouTube/YouTube shorts, Instagram and TikTok. Knowledge of Youtube and social platforms is preferred.The successful applicant will be responsible for shooting and editing video content which aligns with the editorial tone of these brands. The role requires being hands-on in post-production, ensuring each story is visually compelling, accurate and aligned with the editorial voice of the publication.Key Responsibilities:Editorial Judgment: Work closely with editorial teams to ensure videos meet journalistic standards and are compelling for our audience.Story Development: Take editorial direction and shape raw footage into polished, engaging video reports that fit within a fast-paced news environment.Technical Skills: Proficient in editing software. Have a strong understanding of video formats, resolution, and compression.Collaboration: Work with editors and producers to bring visual elements to the stories being covered.Innovative Thinking: Bring fresh ideas to the table, experimenting with new techniques, styles, and formats to elevate the video offering for our lifestyle and entertainment loving audiences.Who are you?Minimum 3-4 years video and editorial experience, with at least 2 years in broadcast lifestyle news production with hands-on experience in shooting and editing video content in a fast-paced news environmentAdvanced proficiency with video editing and graphics software (e.g.Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects knowledge a plus)A strong portfolio of work demonstrating your ability to produce high-quality video under tight deadlinesCamera experience will be considered: From time to time may be called on to assist with shootsExcellent storytelling skills: The ability to craft compelling narratives through video, with a keen eye for detailNews BenefitsNews Benefits is our way of saying thank you to our people for their valued contribution to News, our audiences, clients and communities.
