The VP, Brand Marketing is responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of key brand and communications programs and plans. As a member of the marketing leadership team, this position will lead a team of professionals responsible for telling our story to and adapting it for a variety of audiences including media, customers, prospective employees, partners and industry stakeholders such as healthcare experts and legislators. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is critical to this role and to ensuring delivery of a consistent and compelling brand identity to our target markets. The role requires an innovative, creative storyteller and thought leader who drives PointClickCare’s brand and communications across all marketing, strategic positioning, and public relations efforts.

This role is responsible for:

  • Driving a Vision: Align and execute a bold brand vision that encapsulates our identity, purpose, and messaging, captivating our audience and inspiring loyalty.
  • Strategic Leadership: Inspire team members and colleagues across functions in the development and execution of comprehensive brand strategies, ensuring they drive exponential growth and market leadership.
  • Championing Innovation: Pioneer brand-led innovation by staying at the forefront of industry trends and customer/market insights.
  • Data-Driven Excellence: Leverage data and metrics to meticulously evaluate and optimize brand initiatives, achieving continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Customer Connections: Foster a profound understanding of our markets and customers, anticipating their needs and aspirations, and ensuring our brand resonates with them on a profound level.
  • Team Empowerment: Lead, mentor, and empower a team of brand professionals, nurturing their growth and development to achieve collective success.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop dual business unit brand strategies with vision for overarching corporate communications strategies and plans that support the growth initiatives and objectives.
  • Build and drive strategy for all brand and communications initiatives including messaging, executive, internal, customer and crisis communications, public affairs and industry/segment marketing.
  • Develop and oversee strategy for brand and communications channels such as earned, owned and paid media, content and assets, as well as customer advocacy and thought leadership programs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within and outside of the marketing organization to build a cohesive, powerful, and resonant narrative around our mission, and adapt it for target audiences.
  • Craft compelling stories that articulate and demonstrate our vision and mission through both people and technology.
  • Own relationship(s) with external agency partner(s), providing strategic and creative direction aligned to business objectives.
  • Develop messaging and cultivate relationships with stakeholders and influencers such as policy-makers, legislators, industry experts, associations, media and partners.
  • Develop and manage an annual brand and communications team budget.
  • Lead, coach, manage and grow a team of marketing communications professionals.
  • Operate with advanced working knowledge of Brand Strategy, Creative Communication and Marketing.
  • Lead core brand strategy activities (as identified above) on their businesses without need for coaching, though recognizes when they can benefit from input from other team members/manager to push/enhance the work.
  • Gain a deep, holistic and evolving understanding of our business objectives, challenges, threats and opportunities – including forward looking awareness of emerging competitive threats
  • Collaborate with the creative, business unit product marketing, market research, analytics and web teams
  • Mine provocative insights that form the basis for effective communication, marketing, business and creative strategies with the ability to lead the translation of insights into tactical plans and tactics
  • Develop inspiring creative and project briefs
  • Leading internal brainstorms

  • Able to simplify and clarify complex concepts

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, must be a team player with a positive, engaging and adaptable attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure with constant changes and deadlines.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 7-10 years in senior brand marketing or communications with a diverse set of skills across a variety of marketing disciplines
  • HCP marketing experience; US LTPAC, Hospital and Payer brands required
  • Bachelor degree in communications/business required; Masters degree in marketing, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to protect an institutional brand and building new brands in new and complex markets multiple communications channels.
  • Proven competency set spanning brand strategy/creative development/digital engagement
  • Excellent analytical skills, data driven, seeking to understand and stay ahead of market trends, interpret campaign results and proven ability to optimize, pivot and innovate
  • Strategic acumen and data-driven decision-making abilities
  • Experience managing multi-layered brands in collaboration with internal and external agencies providing marketing solutions as needed by market
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive team productivity through inspiration, motivation, and coaching.
  • Exceptional, effective and persuasive communications skills, both written and verbal/ presentation
  • Must possess excellent writing and editing skills as well as the ability to communicate through multichannel mediums
  • Excellent time management and project management skills with strong business acumen.
