Job description: Territory Manager – Oncology
We are seeking a Territory Manager to join a growing oncology diagnostics team focused on expanding access to hereditary cancer testing. This individual will play a key role in driving test utilization across their assigned territory, with a primary focus on partnering with Genetic Counselors and other oncology professionals within cancer centers.The role requires close collaboration with internal peers and external clinical stakeholders to position the organization’s genetic testing solutions as the preferred choice within health systems. A successful Territory Manager will lead efforts to increase volume through relationship building, workflow integration, and value-based clinical engagement.Additionally, this position will contribute to operational success by supporting blood draw partnerships and EMR integration efforts to ensure seamless implementation at key accounts.Core Responsibilities:Build in-depth understanding of the company’s hereditary cancer testing solutions, value proposition, workflows, and market dynamics.Achieve territory sales objectives by driving test adoption, expanding user base, and building long-term client relationships.Execute a targeted territory strategy focused on new business acquisition and retention of key accounts.Leverage clinical and commercial insights to implement effective sales and marketing initiatives.Call on medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, genetic counselors, pathologists, and other stakeholders across academic and community settings.Establish strong, consultative relationships through education, clinical alignment, and data-driven engagement.Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to resolve issues, ensure high client satisfaction, and drive test volume growth.Work with institutional leaders and thought leaders to support clinical adoption, care pathway development, and digital integration (EMR/EHR).Stay current on oncology diagnostics trends, competitive offerings, and the patient care continuum.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree required; background in healthcare, life sciences, or clinical fields preferred.At least 3 years of experience in a healthcare sales role, ideally within diagnostics, molecular testing, or a similar environment.Strong track record of success in selling to physicians, specialists, or hospital systems.Experience introducing new products and establishing new markets highly valued.Proficiency with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems, and virtual communication platforms.Ability to travel up to 75% within the designated territory.Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
