We are looking for a creative, highly motivated person who is driven by meeting targets, and has an excellent attention for detail. You should have good initiative with innovative ideas and have a strategic outlook with campaign planning and execution.

This role will be responsible for organisation and department level communication, but also ultimately responsible for the marketing and increasing income within:

  • SU Branded merchandise
  • The SU Café – Coffee Union
  • The SU Social Space – Freddie’s
  • The Sports Centre
  • Events ticket sales
  • Media Sales
  • Stalls at UWL Open and Applicant Days

This role is hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days a week in the office and an occasional requirement to be in the office 5 days a week when requested. You will be at both our Ealing and Paragon campus, with an occasional requirement to be at our Reading campus. You may be required to work the occasional evening and weekend when events are held. A work MacBook will be provided with the Adobe Suite included to ensure you are able to complete the occasional design work.

The key focus areas for the role in the coming 12 months include:

  • Growing sales within the Bar and Café including external hire
  • Establishing a positive relationship with our new Partners Native to maximize marketing and ticket sales, executing marketing campaigns where requested
  • Increasing our presence at UWL Open and Applicant Days
  • Assisting with external hire, local member and student sales within our gym
  • Helping to maximize ticket sales within Freshers, Refreshers and other key events.

You will be joining a full-time team of 38 people and part time student staff team of 83 who are committed to delivering the best possible experience to our students. We have been ranked the Top Student Union in England for the last 4 years in the National Student Survey and in 2022 UWL was named University of the Year for Student Experience by the Times Higher Awards.

We have achieved Investors in People Gold Status; NUS Green Impact and we are currently working towards accreditation as a Disability Confident Employer.
