Summary: 

Strategist, Marketing Operations 

The Marketing Operations Strategist is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies that support UNC Health’s overall business and strategic objectives. This role will focus on executing marketing initiatives aimed at increasing consideration and preference for UNC Health among priority consumer segments, service lines, and primary service areas. By collaborating with other professionals in the Marketing & Communication department, as well as internal and external business partners, the candidate will contribute to efforts to enhance patient acquisition and retention. The Marketing Operations Strategist will report to the Marketing Planning and Operations Manager, who in turn reports to the Marketing Strategy Director and ultimately to the Executive Director for Marketing and Brand. Additionally, this role will work closely with the brand strategy team to ensure alignment with messaging and brand identity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with external vendors and agencies to create and execute marketing campaigns and programs, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery. 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of data-driven marketing plans. 
  • Work collaboratively across department teams including brand strategy, marketing technology, consumer insights, integrated communications and community engagement. 
  • Coordinate with external vendors and agencies to create and execute marketing campaigns and programs, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery. 
  • Prepare marketing reports and analyze data to evaluate the success of campaigns, while staying informed about industry trends and best practices. Make any necessary adjustments to optimize results. 
  • Present regular updates on marketing performance to key stakeholders, highlighting key metrics, insights and trends. 
  • Create and manage project documentation which may include project plans, project briefs, project scopes, timelines, roll up reports, decision logs and more. 
  • Utilize quantitative and qualitative data, market information, insights, and industry trends to inform strategic and tactical marketing planning. 
  • Responsible for managing marketing budgets and resources to ensure optimal utilization. 
  • Provide support to the Marketing Planning and Operations Manager in various marketing-related tasks as needed. 

Desired Skills/Capabilities: 

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives, allocating resources effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, matrixed organization. 
  • Proficient in utilizing collaboration tools and software such as MS Teams, Asana, Slack, SharePoint, etc. 
  • Resourceful and solution-oriented with the ability to adapt to changing goals and priorities. 
  • Experienced in project management and possess strong organizational skills to handle multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously. • An understanding of Agile methodology and/or experience working within an Agile marketing organization is a plus. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence, follow through, and drive results. 
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Professional Experience Requirements:

  • Five years of experience working in marketing or public relations.
