For UK-Local and Pan-European Marketing teams

Location: Weybridge or Basingstoke, UK

We are seeking Placement Students with a passion for marketing to become our Marketing Interns involved in marketing campaigns, product trainings, online marketing communication and social media. We aim to inspire consumers through strategies that communicate our brand and innovative products to the world. We are visionary, creative and passionate individuals who aim to capture the essence of the Sony brand in new, innovative ways.

Throughout this 13-month paid placement, you will be given the opportunity to not only expand your marketing and product knowledge but also immerse yourself in what it means to be a marketing professional in a multinational organisation and to understand where your career could take you. Working within established teams, you will be offered expert mentorship alongside multiple development opportunities.

Within the different marketing teams, we offer seven placement roles:

• Professional Display & Solutions Trade, Segment and Marketing Communications Intern, Weybridge
• Support our existing customer base and generate new business opportunities using sales tools and marketing communications.
• Generate marketing activity through social media content creation, website, email communications, event support and general marketing administration.
• Manage incoming sales leads, and work in collaboration with team in marketing activities including data analysis and insight preparation.
• Support the market insights and trends and support trade shows across Europe.
• Video & Sound and Pan-European Marketing Intern, Weybridge
• Support Pan-European marketing planning and monitor the development and execution of product launch and marketing plans.
• Analyse “go-live” and online assets implementation of new product launches in key retailers.
• Inspect customer reviews & ratings of key models and report market pricing evolution/trends to Pan-European and In-country teams
• Help organise Focus groups and/or other feedback including online, customer support, and analyse ensuing data, to reflect in future product development.
• Consumer Marketing Assistant to Imaging Products & Solutions Europe, Weybridge
• Assist the Technical Marketing manager to demo/loan products and to manage products operating from 3rd party agencies.
• Drive reporting of social media metrics of Ambassadors & Influencers working with Sony across Europe and proactively suggest improvements by tracking social media performance of key marketing activities.
• Improve monthly reporting systems and collation of countries’ activities at online and physical events.
• Maintain and grow Sony Alpha Universe Instagram account and participate in improving social reach and interactions through event preparation.
• Assistant Product Manager to Imaging Products & Solutions Europe – Media Solutions, Basingstoke
• Plan & support monthly forecast & budget creation and track monthly market share for reporting and analysis.
• Proactively suggest improvements in competitor analysis and monthly price tracking.
• Support with event management for Media Solutions Europe
• Coordinate sales enablement and marketing tools across all product categories.
• Provide day-day support of activities and events for European Product management team.
• Marketing Assistant to TV Pan-European Product Marketing, Weybridge
• Assist the creation of digital and marketing assets (e.g., e-commerce assets, digital banners, websites) which present Sony TV’s benefit to end consumers.
• Plan and support setting of budgets and monthly forecasts for the asset’s creation
• Collaborate with sales & marketing teams to execute online assets and optimize them.
• Support product launches within the Pan-European market.
• Plan and monitor digital and online campaign KPI’s, and proactively suggest improvements in the effectiveness and efficiency of marketing campaigns.
• Media Intern to Pan-European Customer Marketing Team, Weybridge
• Assist with the planning and delivery of multi-touchpoint, cross-channel media campaigns for European markets.
• Review the in-campaign performance of various Sony product categories across all digital channels.
• Assist with planning inputs for paid search campaigns such as ad copy, keywords etc.
• Communicate and collaborate with media and insights agencies to ensure that campaigns and projects are delivered on time.
• Visit key media owners (e.g., Facebook, Google, YouTube etc) for workshops on research studies and best practice.
• Media Executive Intern to Marketing Services and Professional Solutions, Basingstoke
• Organise and copywrite social media posts for Sony Professional campaign plans for social media accounts including YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
• Monitor and engage with our various audiences over social media and source further information to marketing and product managers.
• Assist the Social Media Manager with research for operational documents, channel reviews and reports.
• Analyse metrics such as impressions, engagement rates and communication skills to report analysis and insights back to stakeholders for improvements in Sony Professional’s social media.
• Brief and receive appropriate imagery and design templates for social media posts.

You will be:

• Studying for an undergraduate degree which makes you eligible for a 13-month placement starting summer 2023. Preferred degree in Business Management, Marketing or similar
• Having a keen interest in Marketing, social media with knowledge of different social channels is advantageous
• A motivated team player with a proactive attitude and inquisitive mindset to learn something new
• Having strong communication, organisational and presentation skills
• Having strong analytical and Project Management skills
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint)
• Fluent in English language (written and spoken), knowledge of European languages is an advantage

Your new office:

Weybridge & Basingstoke: Based at the Weybridge or Basingstoke office, you will enjoy a modern working environment. We have an onsite canteen with a wide range of options available including vegan, and a barista style coffee. There is a well-provisioned onsite gym run by our own Sony Wellbeing Coordinator, with classes on set days in the mornings, times lunch and afternoons.
