Job description: You will be joining an established financial services company as a Sole Legal Counsel focusing on a breadth of legal work and liaising with stakeholders across all areas of the business. This is a permanent opportunity and can be based in Sydney or Melbourne.About the CompanyThe company are an established financial services organisation within the investment advice sector with a strong company focus on collaboration, flexibility and fostering a fun work culture.About the RoleResponsibilities include:Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including client and supplier agreementsProvide legal advice on new products and services to support business strategyMonitor and interpret regulatory changes (particularly ASIC-related) and advise on implicationsProvide legal support on matters involving privacy, data protection, marketing, and IPSupport contract lifecycle management and assist with dispute resolutionCollaborate with internal teams and external vendors to align legal outcomes with business needsEnsure legal documentation is properly executed and compliantAbout YouYou have:3-8PQE with current unrestricted practising certificate and relevant legal qualificationsIdeally in-house and/or private practice commercial law experienceProven ability to provide commercially focused, practical legal adviceExposure to financial services or regulated environmentsStrong drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skillsAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
