Canadian Science Publishing (CSP) is Canada’s largest independent, not-for-profit publisher of international scientific research journals.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Manager of Marketing, and working in a collaborative team environment, the Social Media and Content Marketing Specialist will support the development and implementation of digital and social media strategies to build awareness of CSPs brand and our journals among the research community. The Social Media Specialist will develop and implement valuable, relevant, and consistent content and social media campaigns across most major platforms with a goal of strengthening our engagement with the research community.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
1. Collaborate with communications specialist, graphic designer, and digital marketing specialist, as well as subject matter experts across CSP to develop strategies, create content, and track content marketing initiatives and engagement.
2. Support the blog editorial vision and contribute to calendar.
3. Write, proofread, and edit creative and business content across different mediums and teams.
4. Provide strategic social media analysis, advice and recommendations that align with
CSP and our journal priorities and corporate communications and marketing strategies.
5. Develop and execute a social media strategy that will engage our followers and grow the audience for our products and brand objectives.
6. Lead the strategy for journal social media accounts working with the editorial team to execute those strategies. Provide guidance and training as needed to ensure effective and aligned execution.
7. Manage and optimize all of CSPs social media channels by writing copy, developing graphics and videos, and planning campaigns.
8. Post and schedule content and manage engagement on social media channels.
Assist with blog scheduling and management.
9. Develop and maintain an integrated social media content calendar that incorporates organic and paid posts and campaigns.
10. Collaborate on executing paid social media campaigns.
11. Monitor performance, evaluate results, and provide regular reports and analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a degree in science coupled with recent related marketing experience.
- Experience working for a not-for-profit, scholarly publishing, or in a science-based organization would be an asset.
- Excellent writing and editorial skills, with extensive experience with social media copywriting and a proven ability to adapt tone and content based on the audience and campaign objectives.
- Demonstrated experience in marketing content creation (writing, communicating, and delivering product and service offerings that have value for CSP customers, clients, partners, and other stakeholders)
- A proven ability to analyze KPIs and other metrics from multiple platforms in order to optimize current and future social media and content marketing campaigns.
- Strong digital literacy and a natural curiosity that helps you stay knowledgeable on emerging trends and tools in the social media and content marketing spaces.
- A keen interest in scientific research and knowledge translation
Skills
- Strong written, verbal communications and proof-reading skills with an excellent attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently create high quality and engaging text, image and video- based content that engages and motivates audiences.
- Strong knowledge and experience with social media management tools and content platforms such as (WordPress).
- Working skills in Illustrator, Canva or other graphic design software.
- Familiarity with web analytics platforms and best practices for reporting.
- Able to adapt quickly to change and work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Self-starter, able to initiate, prioritize and organize projects and decisions
- Strong time management and organizational abilities to manage multiple projects/social accounts at once and meet deadlines consistently
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and within a team environment, taking direction from others and providing guidance and expertise to numerous internal cross-functional groups and external stakeholders.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $50,600.00-$63,300.00 per year
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
