Job description: Job Summary:The Service Advisor (Body Shop) serves as the primary point of contact for customers requiring collision repair services. This role involves assessing vehicle damage, estimating repair costs, coordinating with insurance companies, and ensuring a seamless customer experience. The Service Advisor works closely with technicians, parts suppliers, and management to deliver high-quality repairs while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:Customer Service & Communication:
- Greet customers, assess vehicle damage, and provide detailed repair estimates.
- Explain repair processes, timelines, and costs clearly to customers.
- Maintain regular communication with customers regarding repair status and updates.
- Address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly.
Estimation & Documentation:
- Inspect vehicles and document damage using industry-standard software (e.g., CCC ONE, Mitchell, Audatex).
- Prepare accurate repair estimates and work orders.
- Verify insurance coverage and liaise with adjusters to approve repairs.
- Ensure all paperwork (invoices, warranties, insurance forms) is completed accurately.
Coordination & Workflow Management:
- Schedule repairs and manage the body shop’s workflow efficiently.
- Order necessary parts and track deliveries to avoid delays.
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and meet deadlines.
- Monitor repair progress and update customers accordingly.
Administrative & Compliance Duties:
- Maintain records of repairs, estimates, and customer interactions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
- Assist in marketing services (e.g., promotions, customer follow-ups).
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Estimator, or in Collision Repair preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of auto body repairs, parts, and insurance processes.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with collision repair estimating software (CCC, Mitchell, etc.).
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications: I-CAR or ASE certifications (a plus).
Work Environment:
- Primarily in a body shop/automotive repair setting.
- May require standing, bending, and occasional exposure to noise/dust.
