About Product Marketing
Product Marketing (PMM) at Sage is all about deeply understanding customers (needs, feelings, outcomes they want to achieve), the market (size, shape and trends) and competitors (products, tactics, strategy). Then, in collaboration with different crafts across Sage, PMM use this knowledge to design and build ambitious, winning Growth Plans, compelling, differentiated Value Propositions; and high-impact, disruptive, creative Go-To-Market (GTM) plans that immerse customers in the value we offer.
PMM are also embedded into the trading of the business, helping Marketing, Sales, Partner and Success leaders to drive and optimise our performance. All of this is carried out with two clear outcomes in mind: maximising the value for customers and achieving our ARR/growth/margin goals.

We are looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to join the newly formed Product Marketing organisation and successfully contribute to the launch of Sage Intacct in Southern Europe (France). This role reports into the European Product Marketing Director for NCA in the Medium Segment, develops and maintains a deep understanding of customers, market dynamics/trends and competitors; then leverages these insights to contribute to the design of of creative and disruptive Value Propositions & GTM plans.
The role will lead in the definition, planning and execution of the Medium Segment value propositions & go-to-market programs, including targeting, opportunity size, channel strategy, sequencing, customer journey, promotion, tactics, etc. as well as support in the execution and optimisation of those GTM strategies.
To achieve this, the role will work as part of the Sage Medium Segment Run-the-Business squad, working day to day with the Product Marketing Director in Europe, other Product Marketing peers, Product Management and Engineering teams, as well as requiring close working with our Performance Marketing, Sales, Partners, Success and Support teams and key regional colleagues to ensure integrated thinking and field execution.
Success in this role is defined by the role holder’s ability to translate the Medium Segment strategy, growth plans and value propositions into an actionable GTM plan for S. Intacct that resonates and are impactful across the Sage organization, supporting the targets and revenue. This role has a strong focus on delivering Product Marketing strategic outputs as well as delivering in the execution of major launches. An astute ability to navigate between different short and long-term priorities are critical factors of success. Being based in Southern Europe (France), this role will also be accountable for managing Sage Intacct portfolio, as well as aligning the Medium Segment Growth Plan & Launch Calendar and the Regional Win Plan with the Regional Stakeholders.
Taking a hands-on approach, this role then leads the execution of the growth plan, orchestrating impactful product launches, updates to value propositions, cut through messaging, simple customer journeys/experiences and campaign initiatives. Furthermore, this role immerses himself in the operational rhythm of the business, providing vital support to GTM leaders to enhance commercial performance and ensure the attainment of collective annual, recurring revenue (£ARR), growth, and margin goals.

- Understanding customers, market, competition, performance: accountable for understanding the needs of customers; the size, shape trends and conditions of the market; activities and strategies of competitors and the performance of our business. Partners with key functions to source the required data and insights… developing conclusions with “so what” actions. Feeds insights from this understanding into the development of growth strategies and value propositions.
- Strategy: accountable for ensuring the growth strategy for the region is clearly defined then evangelising across key stakeholders to build vision, confidence, belief and energy in the future.
- Growth Plans: owns the definition of the growth plan (what propositions, to which parts of the market, how, when) that achieves our commercial ambitions and aligns to our global growth strategy. Plan is built through close collaboration with Medium Segment Build The Future PMM peers and Region GTM functions (e.g. sales, performance marketing, commercial ops…).
- Value Propositions: partners with other PMM/Medium Segment colleagues to support (and sometimes own) the definition, design and build of value propositions; injecting the needs of market and customers to ensure they are fit for purpose for the region. They then own the development of cut through messaging and positioning.
- Launch: turn the Growth Plan into the specific launches of new/updated products, propositions, campaigns etc that need to be delivered into the GTM. Lead the execution of each Launch, following the Launch process, ensuring GTM readiness and partners with GTM functions to ensure launches achieve the desired commercial results.
- Evangelising: is accountable for the proactive communication and influence into key stakeholders across the Region and Segment to ensure they are clear and confident about the insights from the region (customer, competitors, market), the growth plan, the specific launches we’ll execute and addressing live issues/concerns etc.
- Trading Optimisation: accountable for optimising in-market propositions through participation in the daily/weekly/monthly trading cycles/meetings; and strong, collaboration with GTM leaders (e.g. sales, performance marketing, commercial ops…).
Accountable for the overall commercial success of Sage with increased growth year on year, within the Medium Segment, NCA focus and Europe Region.
Skills, know-how and experience: Must have:
- Significant and proven experience in a customer and commercially led Product Marketing role with deep domain expertise and a track record of building and executing product and proposition growth strategies across multi-functional teams.

- Experience of launching technology products in the cloud, to disrupt markets through innovative ideas balanced with market research against a strategic plan.
- Experienced in product marketing methodologies combined with marketing/communications and ability to work with marketing and sales/channel teams.
- Passion for technology including Cloud, Social, Mobile, and Analytics in B2B and B2C, and Digital and social engagement
- Strong people leadership and influencing skills – able to instil trust, belief, and confidence in a geographically dispersed team
- An exceptional collaborator. Adept at executing, collaborating, and influencing across a multi-cultural and matrix organization
- Strong communication and writing skills in English and ability to work across business lines, presenting to executive leadership and at different levels of management. Proven speaker comfortable in large audiences
- Operate as a Full-stack marketer – leverage your knowledge and experience of all aspects of marketing, from product marketing to lead gen, messaging, sales enablement, industry marketing, content, referrals, copy writing, program management and launches among others.
- Have a Field-facing Marketing Manager mindset – support the efforts of key stakeholders (Country Managers, VP of Sales, Channel Execs) for your region to increase growth by working on projects that increase Opportunities for sales.
- Cross-border, cross-culture experience to work between Sage Intacct’s team in the US and your regional management, sales, VARs, and demand gen to build bridges, as well as leverage the expertise of other regions where Intacct currently sells.
- Create Marketing Content that elevates the awareness, engagement, education, and conversion of prospects to customers. Strong writing skills.
- Be nimble like a Marketing Consultant – one who can adapt to various situations and be flexible to jump between projects, teams and disciplines.
- Be an Independent Thinker – one who observes business situations, builds hypothesis, researches and discovers, and then recommends high-potential projects and solutions to grow or improve the business.
- Has a “move the needle” mindset – is always thinking about ways to improve efficiency and grow sales
- Work cross-functionally with colleagues in industry marketing, corporate marketing, demand generation, product management, sales, customer success, partner marketing and other departments to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Technical / professional qualifications/other advantageous experience:
- Bachelor/Masters degree in marketing, business, accounting, engineering or equivalent experience required. MBA desidered
- Fluent in English – additional European languages desired (French, German, Spanish and/or Portuguese)
- 5+ years of experience as Product Marketing Manager or similar position (i.e. Product Manager, Marketing Manager, etc.)
- CPA/Accounting/FP&A/SaaS experience desired
- Strong balance of creative and data analysis
- Experience working with sales management on projects to help sales teams exceed targets
- Excellent writing skills and a passion for storytelling – your writing evokes a positive reaction that drives affinity for our brand and grows our pipeline of leads
