Senior Officer, Marketing and Communications – Access Scheme (ACF70)

Contract: Fixed term for 15 months from start date, working 35 hours per week (Arts Council also recognises the benefit of flexible working as a valued part of the way we work, and welcome applications from individuals who require flexibility)

Salary: £33,708 per annum plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible and hybrid working.

Location: Manchester, Newcastle, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham, Bristol, Cambridge or Brighton (The role will be based at one of the offices listed; however, we are operating a hybrid way of working and support our staff to make use of remote working options when combined with regular on-site contact days with other members if the team, normally 1-2 days a week)

Arts Council England is looking for a Senior Officer, Marketing and Communications – Access Scheme to join our inclusive and thriving team. This marketing and communications role offers a salary of £33,708 per annum.

We are working to develop a UK Wide Access Scheme to improve the end-user experience by planning to develop, incubate and pilot a disability-guided digital membership scheme. As a Senior Officer, Marketing and Communications, you will devise, design, and guide the scheme’s internal and external communications strategy.

To give you an idea of how this marketing and communications job would look and feel, here are some things you could expect to do:

  • Manage a complex project and provide solutions to challenges presented
  • Develop, manage and implement a thoughtful communication plan for the Access Scheme
  • Ensure effective engagement with 3rd party marketing, brand and communications specialists
  • Work collaboratively with the Access Scheme and Advocacy and Communications teams to manage relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure contributions from others in a matrix setting

To succeed in this Senior Officer, Marketing and Communications role, you must have significant knowledge of developing, using and managing a range of communication channels and platforms, brand development and marketing, and a sound understanding of stakeholder development, public affairs and media handling. You must also have specific experience managing complex projects or directing a communication project with different stakeholders while taking an audience-first approach. In addition, you should be skilled at managing stakeholders and comfortable working with colleagues to map and manage interaction with key stakeholders to further our work. A breadth of perspective on D/deaf, disabled, Neurodivergence and inclusive practice within communications is also essential.
