Senior Marketing Manager

The SEA Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the integrated marketing efforts of SEA Institutional Division, partnering with Ecolab enterprise initiatives and global marketing leader on marketing initiatives. The SEA Snr Marketing Manager will lead the creation of marketing strategies, tactical product marketing programs, customer needs assessment, value propositions and portfolio management. The SEA Snr Marketing Manager is responsible for driving the short/long-term growth and profitability for the region. An integral part of this position is working directly with key customers, CAs, Field Sales, Market Leaders, R&D and other support functional teams.
Core Responsibilities:
Market Understanding & Strategy
- Actively works with teams to have broad understanding of market — competitive as well as customer insights — and transferring that knowledge into actionable strategies.
- Effectively bring together fact-based market, customers, and internal business insights to clearly identify and prioritize the regional strategies (short- and long-term) to maximize market penetration and profitability.
Portfolio & Innovation
- Partner closely with R&D to develop new innovation and products based on a thorough understanding of customer needs as part of Phase Gate process.
- Lead innovation launches in the region.
- Lead Product Lifecycle management for the region to consolidate products, optimize costs and improve margins. Prioritize and close gaps in the product offering and value proposition for the market.
Digital
- Adapt and localize digital initiatives that are defined by the SEA Market and Global Institutional
Sales Execution & Total Value delivery
- Strong partnership with selling organization and connects marketing strategies to sales goals.
- Develop & maintain sales tools to drive consistent winning messaging
- Partner with Global & AP Marketing and the region sales team to develop and implement a comprehensive communication and promotion plan which communicates our value proposition to the sales teams and customers in a compelling way in the market. These may include marketing collateral, training, conferences, promotions, newsletters, marketing & sales initiatives, digital marketing, etc.
Talent
- Build out and manage the regional marketing team to build a culture of strong engagement, accountability and high performance.
- Hire, lead and develop team members to achieve individual performance and development, goals and business objectives.
- The Snr Marketing Manager will be part of the SEA Institutional leadership team, and receive mentorship from Asia Pacific Marketing Director
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- MBA (strongly preferred)
- 10+ years relevant professional sales & marketing experience
- Business-to-business marketing experience
- Successful track record of working effectively with a sales force
- Strong organizational, negotiation and project management skills
- Ability to navigate complex matrix organization to include and influence key stakeholders in various functions and regions
- Excellent capacity to think strategically and synthesize market, customer, competitive, and business insights into outstanding segment strategies
- Demonstrated experience managing complex business problems
- Sales experience, either for Ecolab or elsewhere
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
