Walker Sands is looking for a talented digital marketing strategist to join our Strategy + Insights team. This role is hybrid, out of the Boston or Chicago office, and would be responsible for leading and supporting development of go-to-market strategies, integrated digital marketing plans and sales of integrated marketing programs.
The ideal candidate has deep understanding and experience in digital marketing channels and a passion for building outcome-based marketing programs.
Your focus will be on building digital marketing programs and strategies that involve multiple channels (paid, MOPs, content, SEO, earned media, etc.). Previous agency or digital execution experience, especially in B2B, is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Service delivery leadership and execution for marketing strategy projects — leading and supporting the execution of marketing strategy projects, including:
- Integrated Marketing + Channel Planning: Review of client business goals and ideal outcomes and analysis of digital marketing channels to create and present integrated marketing plans.
- Go-to-Market Strategy Development: Review of client business goals and ideal outcomes for products, audiences, or market expansion and analysis of digital marketing channels to create and present specific marketing strategies for go-to-market, including approach, key marketing messages and direction, channels, KPIs and timelines.
- Marketing and Competitive Analysis: Collaborate with internal agency teams on marketing analysis, including ability to distill key trends and insights from digital channels and align with earned, owned and paid experts on strategies to integrate multiple channels; Use of third-party tools to analyze market and competitive areas of opportunity.
- Provide internal support on marketing planning for medium-large integrated accounts for the agency, working closely with the VP, Strategy to set strategy, and internal teams across paid, earned and owned media, to bridge the gap to execution of strategies.
- Sales support for sales of integrated marketing programs and support the team, on agency-wide insights for sales, including ability to support on prospect and client discovery calls, focusing conversations on ideal client outcomes and creating plans as a result.
- Play a role in the department’s continued growth, supporting the VP, Strategy on process documentation, services refinement and department operations buildout.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital marketing, building and executing strategic marketing plans
- Expertise, experience and ability to effectively build digital marketing strategies involving multiple digital channels based on desired client outcomes (with the support of VP, Strategy and digital experts across channels)
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment, both remotely and in-person
- Strong ability to prioritize and multitask
- Positive attitude in a deadline-oriented environment
- Passion and curiosity for shifting marketing trends
- Agency experience, especially in B2B
- Digital domain expertise — previous work or experience in MOPs, paid, SEO or other digital channels
