The role of Senior Financial Analyst, Loblaw Media and Marketing, will support in managing all the financial operations, administrative processes, and systems integration efforts. In this role, you will assist in managing the P&L for a new growth platform within Loblaw, with full visibility from Sales to EBIT along with enterprise budget of Loblaw Marketing investment. You will also play a critical role providing finance insights to the Loblaw Media and Marketing teams and in tracking and managing business performance. This role will report directly to the Senior Manager, Finance.
Responsibilities Under Loblaw Media
- Assist with month-end close including drafting journal entries and variance analysis
- Liaise with other teams within the organization to gain better understanding of expenses and the balance sheet
- Facilitate the administration of the bonus program by processing quarterly results from various systems and summarizing billing details
- Work closely with Finance Operations team to ensure completeness of monthly billings and vendor invoices
Responsibilities Under Total Enterprise Marketing
- Support the enterprise marketing teams in financial reporting, planning, analysis, and accounting
- Preparation and ownership of periodic marketing accrual and journal entries along with monitoring the day-to-day financial operations within the marketing BU, such as accounts payable, invoicing, and other transactions
- Support recognition of other marketing related revenues, ownership of SMD / Category billing process to receive funds to offset marketing expenses
- Driving process improvement and efficiency across Total Enterprise Marketing Operations and Admin
Qualifications
- 3-5 years working experience in accounting or finance
- University degree in accounting, finance, or business
- Pursuing or have Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ability to use and create Macros is an asset
- An entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, presentation, time management and organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to translate seemingly complex concepts into clear and concise presentations
- Experience with financial stewardship and strong financial modelling skills
- Experience with delivering on process improvement and automation
- Ability to work independently and develop strong working relationships in a team environment
- Experience with SAP, and/or Advantage is an asset
- Experience in process design and systems integration considered an asset
