The Difference You Will Make:
As a Senior Counsel, Marketing & IP reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Marketing & IP, you will help our dynamic teams plan and execute exciting and impactful marketing and brand campaigns that propel Airbnb to the forefront of global brand recognition and support Comms legal review work.
A Typical Day:
- Draft, negotiate and advise on commercial contracts to execute major brand campaigns and talent engagements.
- Provide pragmatic day-to-day advice to our Marketing, Comms and various design/production teams on legal risks while advancing business interests
- Review social media posts, press statements and other releases from Comms and other teams prior to publication
- Advise on and manage the execution of various consumer contests globally, drafting all necessary rules and T&Cs
- Proactively engage with business teams to maintain up to date knowledge of business priorities and cascade information to other legal team members
- Effectively collaborate with international colleagues, including across Product, Risk & Regulatory, Policy and other areas to provide globally aligned legal advice that appropriately balances local and global perspectives and needs
- Help design, implement and iterate legal team processes to keep up a high level of efficiency
- Help manage team resources to align with business priorities and objectives
- Active championship of Airbnb’s mission, ethics and integrity
- Support for Airbnb’s commitment to building and maintaining a diverse and inclusive workplace, free of discrimination and harassment
Your Expertise:
- JD and a minimum of ten (10) years of entertainment and consumer protection counseling (with a strong preference for relevant in-house experience with leading global technology company/ies)
- Deep experience drafting and negotiating talent, influencer, creative production and music licensing agreements
- Subject matter expert level knowledge of applicable FTC regulations
- SAG/AFTRA knowledge and understanding preferred
- A strong working knowledge of the Airbnb platform, evolving product lines, and competitive landscape
- Demonstrated ability to deliver timely, effective and strategic legal advice that is current with the evolving legal and regulatory expectations and tailored to the communication style of the teams you support
- Established ability to independently manage medium to high complexity matters, including issues of first impression
- Skilled at contributing to strategic business conversations, key business priorities and revenue goals and integrating these into ongoing issue spotting and risk assessments.
- Demonstrated ability to perform beyond expectations in a fast-paced high growth environment, including the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize.
- Familiarity with CDA 230, DMCA, E-Commerce Directive and other regulations related to internet platforms preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of integrity, professionalism, intellectual curiosity and willingness to grow
- Member of a state bar (in good standing)
- Highly developed sense of humor a must

This position is US – Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
