Being a part of Way Companies is like being a part of a family.Reports to: ControllerPrimary function: Perform complex accounting activities associated with maintaining all computer software functions. Manages the data input and output functions to provide timely and accurate financial reports.Areas of Expected Performance
- Keep all general and cost accounting records that comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Monthly closing and financial reporting for multiple entities.
- Monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts.
- Reconcile balance sheet and intercompany accounts monthly.
- Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns.
- Prepare and post daily bank deposits.
- Prepare complex journal entries for cost allocations to jobs and service orders.
- As requested by the Controller, offer information to assist in developing expense budgets.
- Coordinate year end audit by external accounting firm.
- Supervise A/P & A/R employees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or higher.
- Three to five years’ accounting experience in service or construction industry, ideally in organizations with multiple entities or divisions.
- Proficient in ERP systems and Excel.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to solve complex problems and able to work independently when required.
- Highly motivated and can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid knowledge of GAAP and understanding of financial statements.
- Good people skills, team-oriented, positive attitude, ability to train and supervise other team members.
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
