GEA is one of the largest suppliers of process technology for the food industry and a wide range of other industries. The international technology group focuses on process technology and components for sophisticated production processes in various end-user markets.

We are looking for a Sales Manager to join our team in Sittingbourne, Kent within the Heating and Refrigeration Technologies Sales Division.

Heating & Refrigeration Technologies combine extensive production process knowledge and integrated heating and cooling expertise to deliver sustainable, energy-saving solutions for customers in the food, beverage and other key industries.

GEA plays an important role in the decarbonization of production processes, cities and other market activities. Via a sustainable energy solutions platform, which includes a comprehensive portfolio of heat pumps, GEA delivers the precise temperatures critical to our customers’ operations. Our proven technologies provide customers with integrated, high-efficiency solutions that significantly reduce CO₂ emissions and energy costs.

You will be responsible for developing sales throughout the UK, with both existing customers and to establishing new opportunities. Your role will include working with consultants and end users to create strong partnerships that translate into profitable and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Identify/qualify sales opportunities
  • Customer focused partnerships
  • Cultivate and maintain effective business relationships with executive decision makers
  • Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions
  • Manage your own day and book and attend your own appointments.
  • Conduct presentations
  • Tender Bid management of contracts, dealing with day to day issues
  • Producing preliminary layout/P&ID drawings
  • Communicating with equipment suppliers and subcontractors
  • Finalising bids in terms of written proposals and finances
  • Work alongside execution/installation team
  • Work closely together with sales management to drive the business forward

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • Field sales experience in the industrial refrigeration industry
  • Good working knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems including, ammonia, CO2, cascade, two stage is preferred
  • Excellent organisation & communication skills
  • Previous technical experience selling to end users in manufacturing industries
  • Work closely together with sales management to drive the business forward
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Good business sense
  • Initiative and enthusiasm
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Good IT, budget and report writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Good computer skills, proficient with MS office applications.
  • Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, and standards.
  • A full driving license
  • Note : The role is homebased, responsible developing sales traveling to customer sites throughout the UK.
