The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Retention Marketing Manager is responsible for email marketing strategy; including planning, coordination, forecasting & communication of all components of the email program – calendar, triggered and transactional. This includes maintaining the calendar, creative development of the emails & templates, monitoring weekly sales projections and results, coordinating & speaking to the decision making of email plans/strategies to various levels of the organization.

This position plays a critical role in managing the email marketing program end-to-end, from concept to deployment to performance analysis and is responsible for managing cross-functional partners like Tech, Content and Merchandising to ensure launch dates are met, execution is flawless, and review / analysis of the program is done consistently to ensure we’re evolving and optimizing in pursuit of our goals. Additionally, this role helps to establish the push marketing strategy in relation to email to ensure we are maximizing touch points across our owned channels to increase customer spending and generate significant sessions and sales for the business.

Your Impact

  • Partner with the Head of Marketing to develop the planning and execution of the email and push marketing calendars using programming, category, customer and promotional inputs to build campaigns that drive customer engagement and spend.
  • Work within SalesForce Marketing Cloud to effectively build out the email templates and review the data
  • Determine weekly touch points to efficiently reach the customer file and maximize sales opportunities
  • Develop and deliver strategy and direction for monthly campaigns
  • Create unique offer/story strategy to capitalize on trends and campaign opportunities
  • Ability to educate internal partners & leaders (at all levels) the fundamentals of the Email Marketing strategy along with ‘why’ or’ why not’ a request can be executed
  • Lead monthly strategy meetings with key partners like tech, merchandising, creative, social and customer service to maximize our campaigns and ensure we are supporting the business · Facilitate regular conversation with key vendor to maximize opportunities and work with tech partners as needed to enhance program capabilities.
  • Deliver clear direction in a fast paced, ever changing environment
  • Manage the revisions process for the calendar, including final plans
  • Coordinate and communicate email plans for various platforms
  • Utilize customer behavior data, historic performance data and other analytics to optimize strategic plans
  • Prioritize campaigns to maximize efficiency
  • Partner with Marketing team members to review strategy each week and make changes to the calendar based on discussions
  • Seek new opportunities and testing to further leverage Email and support corporate initiatives
  • Regularly monitors KPIs to hit sales targets and proactively seeks optimizations to drive progress; this includes but is not limited to sessions, sales, open rate, CTR, RPE, opt-ins and opt-outs and deliverability metrics.
  • Executes weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting and analysis; partners with analytics, campaign management and vendors for data inputs and adds context / storytelling / recommendations for future.
  • Manage Email/Push marketing initiatives, from concept to completion in accordance with budget.
  • Review copy and design for all initiatives and provide feedback to direct reports and creative team as needed.
  • Research and secure relevant, successful product for all initiatives
  • Quality check campaigns to ensure accuracy (ie: product information / pricing click-thru experience, tagging etc.)
  • As needed, create complete, detailed creative brief and independently direct copy, design and HTML teams. Route all projects for necessary approvals and deploy campaigns as applicable.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Merchandising or related discipline
  • Experience working in an Email and/ or Merchandising, Planning, Selling Strategies environment, or equivalent experience, required
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud required
  • Excellent interpersonal, team & relationship building skills
  • Ability to use data and trend analysis to influence leaders on monthly strategies
  • Ability to successfully work in a cross functional environment
  • Confident in communicating decisions across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage and lead large scale projects across multiple lines of the business
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidiscipline environment, and team environment.
  • Must be creative, analytical and results oriented.
  • Must exhibit customer focus, good time management skills, a professional demeanor and positive attitude.
  • Problem solving and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite & windows based systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to positively influence and develop consensus with teams not in a direct report alignment.

Candidates looking for an exciting start-up environment and growth opportunities with significant earning potential – based on the success of the new organization – this is the company for you! Our compensation package is a competitive combination of base salary, short-term annual bonus, long-term cash-based incentives and a Founder’s Bonus for initial team members. Base salary for this role ranges from $100,000-120,000 plus the strong annual and long-term variable incentives noted. Salary ranges are general guideline only, and actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience and geographic location as well as business and market conditions. This compensation package provides significant rewards to the candidate over-time based on company performance and personal success.
