Job description: Our client, Valley Petroleum Pty Ltd trading as Metro Hunter Valley, operates a busy and well-established service station and convenience store in the Hunter Valley region. The business serves both local residents and high tourist traffic, offering fuel, groceries, and quick-service food and beverage options. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction and smooth operations, this is an opportunity to join a dynamic team environment and play a key role in the ongoing success of the business.Minimum Requirements:
AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma with at least 1 year of experience in a retail management role.Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations of the service station, including fuel ordering, monitoring deliveries, and handling safety checks for pumps and storage systems
Supervise and support staff in operating the café/food service section, ensuring product quality and hygiene standards are met
Coordinate with suppliers for grocery, fuel, and promotional stock to meet both local and tourist demand patterns
Oversee merchandising and store presentation to align with brand standards and seasonal campaigns
Develop localised marketing initiatives to attract both regular customers and tourists visiting the Hunter Valley region
Ensure compliance with pricing, promotional, and stock control policies and procedures
Develop and implement purchasing and inventory control systems to maintain adequate stock levels
Monitor sales trends, prepare budgets, and analyse financial performance to meet KPIs
Oversee staff recruitment, induction, training, and rostering to ensure adequate coverage and service quality
Implement and monitor WH&S, food safety, and operational compliance requirements
Maintain excellent customer service standards and address escalated customer issues promptly
Skills Required:
Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
Financial acumen in budgeting, stock control, and sales analysis
Hands-on experience in fuel station or convenience retail operations is highly desirable
Ability to multitask and manage high-volume, fast-paced environments
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for both staff and customer interaction
Problem-solving and decision-making capability with a “can-do” attitudeHow to Apply:
