The AT&T Product Marketing Strategist is foundational for short- and long-term marketing and strategic planning. In this role, the Marketing Strategist will be responsible for developing detailed strategic recommendations related to various marketing initiatives across both AT&T home internet and wireless services. Creating these robust plans will involve facilitating and analyzing product and consumer research initiatives, identifying prospective consumer audiences, informing product positioning strategies, influencing strategic marketing activities, serving as a trusted advisor for marketing execution teams, and more.

This role will serve as a core function of the “Marketing Strategy and Planning” team, which sits within the larger Mass Markets “Product Marketing” organization. The “Product Marketing” organization develops and executes the majority of consumer-facing marketing initiatives at AT&T, and the “Marketing Strategy and Planning” team is responsible for developing the detailed strategies that serve as the foundation for these initiatives. This role will report to the Product Marketing Director responsible for both broadband and converged household marketing strategies, along with holistic Mass Markets brand strategy initiatives.

As a Product Marketing Strategist you will not only work with other Product Marketing team members but will partner with groups across the entire Mass Markets organization – including Brand Strategy, Digital, Go-to-Market Execution, Legal, Product Management, Research and Analytics, Sales and Distribution, and more.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides analytic expertise and thought leadership in support of AT&T product and marketing communication strategies, deriving strategic insights from complex data sets
  • Manages a wide range of investigative analyses to assess the organization’s present and future position with regard to competitive claims, market share and feasibility of new products
  • Develops clear marketing strategies that effectively conform to a unified narrative, using comprehensive product research and audience insights as the foundation
  • Projects or forecasts future marketing needs by applying advanced marketing principles, theories, and concepts to create and design strategic responses for various marketing projects
  • Evaluates impact of product initiatives on holistic strategic marketing planning objectives and strategies
  • Positions self as a subject matter expert (SME) within the discipline and an acknowledged authority within the organization
  • Works with Brand Strategy, Go to Market Marketing, Legal, Product Management, Research and Analytics, external vendors, and others to translate consumer needs into a superior and differentiated product marketing strategy
  • Efficiently and effectively manages multiple, interrelated, and complex projects
  • Develops, maintains, supports, and enhances continuous reporting on current and new claims through rigorous analysis of data from multiple sources
  • Streamlines and manages all elements of data analysis and reporting for multiple diverse clients, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and consistency
  • Supports routine and ad-hoc strategic needs from multiple internal clients
  • Collaborates with and effectively manages partner teams in and outside of AT&T to develop marketing strategies and procure deliverables that inform final plans
  • Partners closely with the Brand Strategy organization to regularly evaluate and develop product positionings and consumer value propositions
  • Manages consumer-facing naming requests and works closely with Brand Strategy partners to determine appropriate strategies, including naming recommendations

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or business
  • Five or more years of consumer product marketing, brand strategy, public relations, business strategy or adjacent experience
  • Three or more years of agency or consulting experience (marketing, strategy consulting, public relations, or communications)
  • Expertise in developing brand or marketing strategies for consumer products
  • Team oriented individual with an ability to motivate and work well with diverse, cross-functional partner organizations
  • Strong analytic and fact-based decision-making skills, experience with detailed quantitative analysis
  • Demonstrated success in the analysis, integration, management, and reporting of multiple and complex datasets from multiple vendors
  • Ability to rapidly analyze and update reports with new data
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to set and meet tight deadlines for multiple simultaneous projects – all while ensuring accuracy and consistency in deliverables
  • Leadership skills to shape growth initiatives and marketing strategies
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex data sets into consumer-friendly narratives that effectively communicate a clear vision or story
  • Ability to distill and communicate findings into concise language and draw fact-based conclusions and recommendations
  • Ability to articulate needs and influence changes in multiple external and internal groups, through the use of data-driven analysis
  • Ability to create and design clear, concise presentations to share with senior leaders
  • Collaborative working style and strong listening skills, with an ability to incorporate multiple viewpoints into discussion and decision making
  • Ability to establish rapport with internal clients and partners, fostering credibility and positive working relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve stakeholder problems/issues/concerns
  • Proven ability to drive results
  • Must be able to operate a personal computer and wireless/mobile equipment
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Power Point, Excel, Teams and Outlook

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of technology, telecommunications, or other related industries

This position is in Dallas, TX, and will be required to come into the office at least 3 days per week.

Our Product Marketing Strategists earn between $106,100 – $159,100. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
