Red Hat is looking for a Principal Product Marketing Manager to join a growing team establishing Red Hat Linux for use in vehicles. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and carrying out the messaging, positioning, and collateral for Red Hat’s technology for use as an in-vehicle operating system. As a Principal Product Marketing Manager, you will work cross-functionally and globally across a team which includes Product Management, Technical Marketing, Partner Management and Engineering. You’ll be in charge of developing, communicating, and implementing a compelling go-to-market plan. We’ll need you to be able to understand customer needs and develop compelling messaging and positioning, as you will spend time in front of customers and partners.
What you will do
Create concise and compelling core product messaging that embodies key product attributes, including value proposition, positioning, and differentiation
Create effective marketing assets and content, including whitepapers, presentations, case studies, solution briefs, web content, data sheets, and sales kits that can be used globally
Collaborate with product management teams to ensure marketing plans align with directions and support product roadmap and releases
Jointly create technical marketing collateral with technical marketing managers, engineers, and field marketing teams, including technical presentations, white papers, and case studies
Participate in technical aspects of go-to-market (GTM) engagements like roadshows, workshops, webinars, solutions demos, and industry and partner events
Support customer engagements where required in high-touch accounts worldwide by collaborating with field sales and services teams
Work with alliance and ecosystem partners to develop joint value propositions
What you will bring
5+ years of product marketing experience; product management or technical marketing experience is a plus
5+ years automotive industry experience
5+ years of software industry experience, preferably within an area of infrastructure software, e.g. operating systems (Linux preferred), virtualization, cloud, or systems management
Domain knowledge and experience with open source projects a plus
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, engineering, computer science, or a related area; MBA is preferred
A track record of success in a fast-paced technical environment
Ability to develop proof points around turning messaging and positioning into high-value assets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
Ability and experience working in an inspirational, influence-driven, cross-functional environment
Ability to be meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks at once in a highly complex environment
Ability to communicate the technical value proposition for our offerings and promote our solutions internally and externally
Willingness to travel (minimum 25% especially if remote)
