About the Position:
The Mixed Crop Farmer role is a hands-on, full-time position responsible for overseeing the cultivation and management of various crops on farms managed or supported by T & E Recruitment Service Pty Ltd. This role involves planning and executing farming operations, ensuring optimal crop health and yield, and maintaining farm infrastructure to support efficient production.
Key Responsibilities:
Cultivate suitable crops based on climatic conditions.
Conduct soil testing to determine fertilizer requirements for optimal soil health.
Assess water quality to ensure suitability for crop irrigation.
Regularly inspect and direct farm activities, including selecting high-yield crop varieties, sowing, land preparation, fertilization, irrigation, pest/weed control, and weeding.
Oversee harvesting, threshing, cleaning, grading, packaging, and marketing of produce.
Inspect and maintain machinery to ensure proper function and safety.
Maintain farm buildings, fences, water supply systems, and input sources.
Provide excellent customer service and build strong relationships with clients.
Organize and conduct farming operations, including collecting, storing, grading, and packaging produce, as well as managing sales, purchases, and dispatch.
Direct and oversee general farming activities such as fertilizing, pest control, and weed management.
Ensure maintenance of farm buildings, sheds, fences, equipment, and water supply systems.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field.
Minimum Experience Required: At least 3 years of experience in mixed crop farming or related agricultural roles.
Strong knowledge of crop cultivation, soil management, and irrigation techniques.
Proficiency in operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment.
Ability to conduct soil and water quality assessments.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills for coordinating farming operations.
Strong communication and customer service skills for client relations.
Knowledge of pest, weed, and disease management practices.
Ability to work independently and lead farm activities effectively.
