Job description: Swickers Kingaroy Bacon Factory is an export meat processing facility, based in the South Burnett Region and is ideally located just 2 – 3 hours’ drive to Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast. Swickers has been in operation in Kingaroy for over 50 years and today employs approximately 900 employees.As part of the Sunpork Group, Swickers is a state-of-the-art processing facility specialising solely in the production of fresh pork and distributing it widely across Australia and internationally. Swickers processes 95% of all Queensland’s pork production, including the production of various pork value-add products for consumers worldwide. The opportunityWe are seeking Skilled Meat Workers who share our commitment to quality, safety, and customer service, and are looking for a focused and friendly working environment.Responsibilities, tasks, & duties include:

• stun & kill livestock, & prepare carcasses for processing & internal organs & skins;
• operate switching controls to drop carcasses & meat cuts to boning tables;
• cut & separate meat, fat & tissue from bones;
• wash, scrape & trim foreign material & blood from meat;
• cut sides & quarters into meat cuts; rumps, flanks, & shoulders, & remove internal fat, clots, bruises for packing & marketing;
• operate restrainer & stunning equipment;
• cut & slice carcasses into parts to facilitate dressing;
• trim & remove head meat & remove parts;
• cut & remove entrails, & trim animal carcasses.

Qualification and experience:

• Certificate III in Meat Processing; and
• Minimum 2 years’ work experience at a meat processing facility;
• You must have a good work ethic & enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
