The Position

  • The marketing specialist is an entry level animal health marketing position ideal for a highly motivated individual looking to develop and expand their skills under the mentorship of the brand/marketing manager.

  • They will contribute to the development of effective brand strategies and tactics to ensure the achievement of market share, sales and profitability targets in the equine & avian business units.

  • At the same time, they will coordinate and provide a high standard of administrative support for marketing and sales teams to help achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development & execution of strategic marketing activation plans, campaign assets and content for utilization by sales team and direct to customer channels.

  • Produce market reports and competitor analysis to inform & influence marketing activities that address customer insights.

  • Contribute to the production of accurate and timely forecasts & budgets in consultation with the brand/management team on established products/brands. Ensure stock and financial forecasts are continually and accurately produced.

  • Monitor and manage marketing materials printing, inventory monitoring, collateral and accessory equipment/parts.

  • Facilitate the organization of and logistics coordination for internal and external meetings, conferences and trade shows.

  • Manage financial process flow for Direct Promotional spend including creating purchase orders, processing invoice payments, tracking spend to budget & coordination of monthly accrual process.

This position is based in the Burlington, Ontario office located at 5180 South Service Road and is flexible .

Employees in flexible roles are required to be at the office a minimum of 50% of the time each month and must report to the office when requested and required by their Manager/Department.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree

  • Experience in a similar role (minimum 12 months)

  • Business/financial acumen and ability to synthesize information into customer insights.

  • Self-starter, results oriented, ability to work independently with multiple priorities, in a fast-paced regulated environment.

  • Experience in administrative duties, preferably within a marketing environment, high level of proficiency with MS office including excel and PowerPoint.

  • Team player, agile, organized, strong attention to detail with exceptional planning and time management skills.
