Valley Credit Union is a full-service financial institution with 7 branch locations, 65 employees, and over $ 220 Million in assets. Located in the beautiful Annapolis Valley, Valley Credit Union has an immediate need for Full Time Marketing Specialist. The position will be based out of Valley Credit Union’s Head Office located in Cambridge Nova Scotia

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President, Member Experience, the Marketing Specialist will help develop, implement, track, and optimize marketing initiatives for the credit union, both digital and traditional, to promote and build awareness of the credit union and its products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

· Monitor and manage a variety of social media accounts – promote products and services, engage with our members and community, respond to comments and inquiries, run contests and surveys, etc.

· Create and update content on website, digital screens, and our virtual chat bot

· Manage donation and sponsorship requests and budget

· Create and distribute brand material to branches

· Source, order, and distribute promotional items and swag

· Act as marketing resource for branches

· Develop and maintain contacts with external partners

· Create ads and other promotional communications

· Roll out new promotions – prepare schedules, promotional materials, staff communications, etc.

· Event planning – coordinate various corporate events and volunteer opportunities

· Adhere strictly to Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing (AMLTF) compliance

· Completes other duties and projects as assigned

· Available to work the occasional evening and weekend

Qualifications:

· The successful candidate will have a degree/diploma in marketing or other related field, plus five to ten years of digital marketing experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Experience in the financial field considered an asset.

· Required proficiency with:

  • Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram business accounts
  • Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Canva
  • Adobe Premiere Pro

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent time management and project coordination skills

· Experience with budget and expense management

· Proficient with Data analysis

· Aware of marketing trends and best practices in the financial industry, social media, and digital marketing

· Experience with the following considered assets:

o Email marketing (Mailchimp)

o Video conferencing (Zoom)

o Website administration and content management systems

o Some experience using HTML

o Social media management (Buffer)

o Website analytics (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager)

o Filming and creating video content

Salary: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
