Job Description
The Role
We seek a technology-oriented yet creative, Marketing Operations Specialist to support the day-to-day operations of the marketing department, including event planning and customer journey campaigns management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the trade fairs industry and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Summary/Responsibilities
- Customer journey management: overseeing the customer journey from start to finish. Work with a variety of teams, including marketing, sales, and customer service, to ensure that the customer experience is seamless and meets the needs of the customer.
- Work with marketing team to develop and execute marketing strategies and plans: This includes working with the marketing team to develop a comprehensive marketing plan that aligns with the company’s overall business goals. The marketing plan should include a mix of marketing activities, such as content marketing, social media marketing, email marketing, and paid advertising.
- Research and identify strategic partners to collaborate with locally and internationally: This includes identifying potential partners who can help the company reach new markets, grow its customer base, or improve its products or services. The marketing team should research potential partners’ capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses to ensure that they are a good fit for the company.
- Manage the business matchmaking feature and ensure high ROI for the clients: This includes managing the company’s business matchmaking platform, which connects businesses with potential customers and partners. The marketing team should track the results of the matchmaking platform to ensure that it is generating leads and sales for the clients.
- Manage marketing tool kits (e-signatures, social media posts, WhatsApp invitations, explainer videos, etc.): This includes creating and managing the company’s marketing toolkit, which includes a variety of marketing materials, such as e-signatures, social media posts, WhatsApp invitations, and explainer videos. The marketing team should ensure that the marketing toolkit is up-to-date and that it is aligned with the company’s marketing goals.
- Support with marketing channels (Catalogue, MML, SMS, WhatsApp, Website, etc.): This includes supporting the company’s marketing channels, such as its catalogue, marketing materials library, SMS marketing, WhatsApp marketing, and website. The marketing team should ensure that the company’s marketing channels are effective and that they are reaching the company’s target audience.

- Marketing knowledge: A marketing operations specialist should have a strong understanding of marketing principles and strategies. They should be able to develop and execute marketing campaigns that are aligned with the company’s overall marketing goals.
- Content creation skills: create engaging and informative content. They should be able to write blog posts, articles, infographics, and white papers that are relevant and appealing to the company’s target audiences.
- Social media skills: manage social media accounts and use social media to engage with customers and promote the company’s products or services.
- Email marketing skills: send email campaigns that are targeted and relevant to the company’s target audiences. They should be able to write effective email copy and track the results of their email campaigns.
- Analytical skills: track and measure the results of their marketing campaigns. They should be able to use this information to improve the effectiveness of their future campaigns.
- Organizational skills: manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. They should be able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Communication skills: A marketing operations specialist should be able to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including marketing team members, sales team members, and clients. They should be able to clearly articulate marketing strategies and plans, and they should be able to answer questions and resolve problems.
- Teamwork skills: A marketing operations specialist should be able to work effectively as part of a team. They should be able to collaborate with others, share ideas, and give and receive feedback.
Skills and education
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Analytical and questioning mindset

- Experience of using email marketing platforms
- Experience of working with CMS platforms (but coding knowledge not required)
- Experience of marketing analytics and reporting platforms (Google Analytics/Adobe or others)
- Database development and growth, including segmentation / advanced targeting
- Building relationships with partners and stakeholders
- Experience of working in a pressurised environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, including intermediate/advanced PowerPoint, Word, Excel
- Events marketing experience
