About the Role
- Education Marketing Manager is responsible for the development of strategic marketing programs in the Education space in their respective region. As the owner of the Education customer journey, incumbent is responsible for managing end-to-end customer value story from a best-of-suite solutions portfolio perspectives. Being the local segment marketing representative, incumbent must facilitate communication and collaboration between marketing, product and sales within respective region to drive market expansion for Education business (print portfolio & e-products).MM also is the owner of local market segmentation, targeting and positioning and working closely with cross-functional business teams of Sales, Content, Demand generation to translate marketing strategy into strategic programs and execution to drive awareness and demand in the market.
- This Role is a people manager role managing the Education Solutions team members working in India Region.
Responsibilities
- Marketing Strategy – Develops and leads Education marketing strategy in respective region with in-depth market intelligence and customer insight, including segmentation, customer profile, value proposition, particularly focus in on Medical Schools, physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals
- Solutions Marketing – Develops and executes, in collaboration with Marketing Excellence, solution-based marketing programs to drive revenue by supporting a professional, direct sales force including market segmentation, targeting and positioning (unique solutions based value proposition).
- Education Market – Position Elsevier Education and its suite of e-products to closely align with local healthcare market needs and challenges; lead market growth into academics market and drives c-suite engagement
- Market Expansion – Participate in go-to-market strategy development for new and expanded products; lead pilot projects for market entry
- Value Story – Develop local value stories and customer case studies that speak to challenges unique to respective region to strengthen Elsevier story and positioning in the market.
- Market Assessment – Define market size, both addressable and potential market for our solutions comprising products, in collaboration with the strategy team
- Market Research – Manage local market research programs; evaluate customer and competition research, product roadmap, market conditions and results and use results to define marketing strategy.
- Customer Engagement – Support Account Development Team to engagement customers to drive usage and retention; and increase customer satisfaction resulting in high renewal rate and upsell/cross-sell opportunities
- C-Suite Engagement – Increase reach and lead generation with decision makers within top academic institutions and government agencies
- End-User Engagement – Develop end-user engagement program to drive grass-root awareness and engagement
- People Management – Manage, Develop and lead the Education Marketing team to achieve the education segment marketing priorities. Establish clear talent nurturing KPIs and follow up for results.
Requirements
- Strong experience of Indian Education market a must. Preferably Higher Medical Education segment.
- Strong understanding of healthcare customer and market dynamics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Possess solid presentation skills to effectively present to small and large audiences
- Must be a detail-oriented, confident self-starter with effective project management skills and the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety variables in situations where only limited knowledge exists.
- Possess an expert knowledge of marketing principles and tactics; interest and expertise with technology is expected
- Strong decision maker with the capacity to take initiative, prioritize and manage multiple projects, and meet aggressive timelines.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse and global stakeholders in a matrix organization.
- University degree or above
- Minimum 7 years of strategic, integrated marketing experience including: value proposition, competitive analysis, market segmentation, case study / research development, online and offline marketing, thought leadership/content marketing, social media and events (online and offline), etc.
- B2B marketing experience with strong focus on value proposition, KOL engagement and customer engagement in the healthcare market
- Experience in developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives.
- Education industry experience a must
- Incumbent should have minimum 7 years out of which 2 years should be in leading a functional team to success.
- Experience working with healthcare-related societies, Authors, Academic Institutions, Faculties & Students strongly desired
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the month.
