With the flexibility to work from home, a coffee shop, from the top of a mountain or at our Head Office based in Richmond BC, this role will support the growth of Collagen, Kids & Baby, BFY Snacking by executing the business strategy which includes all marketing planning and innovation development efforts, coordinating with key cross functional members to ensure we are driving optimal revenue and profit growth.

Let’s get into the detail. This role will:

Planning

  • Support the yearly long range planning/ strategy process, updating fact based presentations, projecting trends and forecasting business by key categories ensuring all key stakeholders align to key inputs
  • Assist in leading cross functional (sales, brand marketing, demand planning, design, digital, communication, finance) team to deliver on key yearly, quarterly and monthly objectives
  • Lead the yearly business planning and budgeting process for the business unit ensuring collaboration between finance, sales, marketing & operations
  • Support the short and long-term Innovation Strategy and provide innovation trend and concept forecasting 0-3 years out
  • Liaise with Innovation/PD and Sales Team to refine and implement a Go-To-Market Strategy for all innovation
  • Host weekly meetings with key stakeholders to review and align on insights and strategy
  • Lead innovation story development (customer front facing) as needed per brand and customer planning timelines
  • Lead the marketing portion of the yearly budget build for the organization including growth expectations, category trends, innovation, distribution (white space), merchandising, shelving, pricing initiatives.
  • Responsible along with VP of Marketing for the category PNL in understanding key cost drivers and changes to be communicated to senior leadership
  • Lead with marketing leadership team the ownership of all key line items (working and non-working) of the yearly marketing budget

Innovation

  • Lead the innovation development and Go-To-Market Strategy by collaborating with innovation team
  • Communicate customer brand and innovation sales (Pre-Pitches, Pitches, Sell Sheets)
  • Lead all packaging development & commercialization
  • Develop and lead product launch strategy by channel
  • Lead all sale samples and mock requests

Brand Plans

  • Develop and lead tactical in-market launch execution (all touchpoints), working in collaboration with sales weekly
  • Develop and lead communication & content plan execution (liaise with sales, digital, and brand comms) ongoing
  • Provide ongoing digital, PR, influencer, social, and customer experience support
  • Develop and lead annual and quarterly sales toolkit communication and sell-in- warehouse coordination
  • Ensure all products have needed pricing set up and approvals for sales to list prior to launch
  • Lead reviews and sampling program coordination, and tracking monthly
  • Lead asset development and share out monthly
  • Provide account support requests ongoing (gift baskets, etc.)

Sku Lifecycle Management

  • Develop and lead customer and product/sub brand defense plans as needed
  • Ensure shopper and trade promo execution & compliance weekly
  • Provide sales and sales rep support, promotions, and tools as needed
  • Validate and lead all packaging, configuration, and formulation updates required for the account
  • Ensure discount or short dated inventory is sold off or sampled monthly
  • Provide customer experience and review support monthly
  • Conduct yearly sku rationalization as part of LRP planning to ensure effective management of sku mix

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, communications, Business Administration or a related field
  • Minimum of 5-8 years Experience within and a strong understanding of CPG or Retail programs
  • Experience Innovation strategy, commercialization and campaign development
  • Experience with category insights and research an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously
