Overview of Position:
The Marketing Generalist will be responsible to work alongside the Marketing Manager setting objectives towards developing an overall marketing strategy that drives profitability, brand consistency, and overall market growth. The Marketing Generalist must have proven ability in photography and videography to provide content to external resources for content creation. The Marketing Generalist will conduct in-depth research for marketing strategies, specifically, digital content creation, market research, creating business communications for internal/external usage, social media analysis, engaging on social media platforms as well as exploring opportunities for brand awareness, and overall market growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take quality photos and videos on-site and on worksites using drones, cameras, or other appropriate equipment, use editing tools to produce a quality product
- Working alongside the Marketing Manager conducting in-depth research to identify new market opportunities and consumer preferences to support campaign creations.
- Setting goals that align with the business goals and create and maintain the content calendar
- Working alongside the Marketing Manager to develop and maintain a digital and social media campaign to increase web traffic including creating consistent social media posts.
- Assist with forecasting market trends and identifying new opportunities, assist with business cases to support new marketing strategies, budget requests, projects, and marketing plans.
- Research and utilize up-to-date social media strategies, including making recommendations for new strategies.
- Assist with the creation of brand guidelines and branding strategy, research, and propose / create new opportunities for brand awareness
- Assist with the creation of marketing plan
- Compile list of competitors and competitor information
- Ensure brand alignment strategy and maintain and sustain brand tone of voice and appeal to the required target markets
- Work alongside the Marketing Manager to organize initiatives and events including public relations and media
- Use client feedback to ensure client satisfaction and upgrade marketing tactics as required
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Using Google suite of products: Google Analytics, My Business, and Search Console
- Track and measure analytics such as engagement, and reach, on social media and on other digital properties
- Work alongside the Marketing Manager with other marketing duties as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- History of working with First Nations or proven history of post-secondary education with First Nations, Indigenous, Inuit, Metis, programs, and courses etc.
- 2+ years’ experience working as a Marketing Generalist or related field
- Post-Secondary degree in photography / videography; or 2+ years’ related experience.
- Post-Secondary degree or diploma in creative communications and/or Business Administration with a major in marketing.
- Proven ability to work with messaging and tones of brands with different target markets simultaneously.
- In-depth knowledge of CRM software and Content Management Systems.
- Strong working knowledge with Microsoft Office products, Adobe Suite, Social Media Platforms, and Google suite of products.
- Up-to-date marketing, creative communications procedures, and social media platform utilization.
- Proven history of planning content creation and social media strategies.
- Excellent communications skills and interpersonal skills.
- Must be highly organized and Professional.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Research and create new opportunities for brand awareness
Minimum or Other Qualifications:
The following skills are considered an asset:
- Graphic Design experience
- WordPress experience
- Drone operation experience
- Matterport experience
- Training in public speaking
- Experience in business development
Work conditions:
Overtime may be required, phone and other equipment associated with the trade, noise from office equipment, onsite noise associated with the trade. Travel may be required, ability to attend and/or conduct presentations, manual dexterity required to use desktop computer, cameras and peripherals, sustain long amounts of time standing, walking, and sitting, lifting and / or moving over 10 lbs may be required.
