Department 01641 – University Asia Campus Job Summary
This position is responsible for creating and maintaining the public image and brand reputation of the University of Utah Asia Campus. The communications specialists will maintain media relations with domestic (Korean) and international stakeholders, identify media outreach opportunities, and promote positive public awareness through external communication to help the campus sustain its growth and attract potential students worldwide. This position directly impacts student recruitment, UAC brand management, and the University’s goals related to enrolment and support of the academic and other student-focused departments. The position will report directly to the Assistant Director of Marketing with a dotted line reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer/Dean of Faculty and contribute to student satisfaction with their collegiate experience by building a sense of campus community.
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree English, Journalism, Communications, or related field plus 3 years of related experience, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills; familiarity with a variety of computer software; project management and strong interpersonal skills; ability to work both individually and in a team setting.
Some areas may require additional experience with specific computer systems and may require skills in interviewing, ad copy writing, editing, photography, web writing, graphic design, audio & video production, and oral presentation.
Master’s degree in a related field may be preferred.
