Marketing & Communication Specialist

The Marketing & Communication Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing a strategic marketing plan for INSTRON Products within Instron Organization in order to attract potential customers and retain existing ones. Moreover, is responsible for overseeing all activities and communications channels used to promote the abovementioned Products and for coordinating the various phases of the marketing campaigns.

Job Description

The job purpose is to generate leads, engage customers and build brand recognition.

  • Use CRM to manage contact and leads database
  • Reporting and analysis
  • Always operate according to safety and law regulations;
  • Working according to the guidelines received, plans and approved strategy, policy, and business procedures;
  • Make sure that confidentiality is maintained about all the commercial, administrative and technical specifications;
  • Propose initiatives aimed at improving and simplifying processes that involve the team and the assigned territory;
  • Co-operate proactively with managers, colleagues, and internal stakeholders on the business needs;
  • Provide support in defining and managing marketing and communications expenses to ensure that they fall within the annual budget;
  • Guide the development and drafting of the annual marketing plan according to business and marketing objectives, monitor its effectiveness regularly, and propose changes if necessary
  • Provide contents for marketing deliverables to accomplish the marketing plan;
  • Propose valid suppliers and interlocutors for the implementation of marketing plans and manage their activities to ensure they are within the scope of supply and meet the expected results;
  • Interact with global marketing and communications colleagues to implement the marketing plan around the world. This may require managing sales collaterals, web content, support with the creation of local advertising pieces and newsletters,
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to identify emerging needs and marketing challenges;
  • Be up to date on designated industry markets and trends and use this information to develop effective communications strategies aimed to generate customer demand and interest
  • Develop, implement and coordinate advertising and promotional activities related to the image of the Company, with particular attention to publications in sector magazines;
  • Provide and distribute Newsletters;
  • Develop and disseminate within the Company the necessary documentation to support the business team products (brochures, press releases, website contents, etc.), collecting data from the different departments, such as the commercial and the R&D teams;
  • Interact with Instron’s Corporate design team, developing the necessary documents (photographs, catalogues, etc.) for sales collaterals design;
  • Work with Instron’s Corporate Web Team to ensure product information is available on the company’s website through the constant updating of the website and the corporate intranet;
  • Participate and coordinate the organization of national and international trade fairs with global marketing and communication colleagues;
  • Provide support in the introduction of new products in the market, by developing and coordinating the launch plan;
  • Provide support in VOC activities, developing Surveys aimed at monitoring the Customer Experience and at collecting customers pains and needs to support in the continuous improvement of customer satisfaction;
  • Provide support in the Go-To-Market Strategy definition.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, strategic communications, languages, literature, or equivalent
  • Minimum three years (better if 5) of advertising or marketing communications experience
  • Demonstrated experience with all types of social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
  • Fluent in English, French and German

  • Proven success designing and executing marketing and communication strategies and campaigns, aimed at generating leads and strengthening the visibility of the brand in the Engineering field.

  • Great multitasker and capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects with different deadlines
  • Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks

  • Familiarity or experience working with Windows and MS Office
  • Familiarity with SEO content techniques
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, …)
  • Familiarity with website management platforms
  • Familiarity with CRM software aimed to create a list of customers for email marketing activities

Additional Information

  • Normal office and factory environment with limited physical discomfort due to temperature, noise, dust and the like.
  • The role might require national and international travels
  • Working hours might be adapted to accommodate business needs occasionally.
