Marketing Assistant, Vintage (Hybrid)
Marketing at Vintage Books, an imprint of Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group, seeks a Marketing Assistant to join the team, reporting to the Executive Marketing Director and supporting our title marketing campaigns, multicultural marketing, and social media initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with an innovative group of marketers collaborating in a fast-paced environment that oversees the marketing initiatives for our titles and authors while helping champion our Vintage Trade Paperback Originals program and right Vintage backlist to readers everywhere.
The Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group is a storied leader in commercial and literary publishing and home to some of the most iconic authors in the world, including Nobel Laureates Toni Morrison, Kazuo Ishiguro, and Alice Munro; Prize-winners Robert Caro, Joan Didion, Yaa Gyasi, Jhumpa Lahiri, Cormac McCarthy, Michael Ondaatje, Tommy Orange, Patti Smith, Anne Tyler, and Colson Whitehead; and global bestsellers Dan Brown, John Grisham, Erin Morgenstern, and Jo Nesbo.
The Marketing Assistant should be highly motivated, enthusiastic about publishing, and enjoy reading broadly and often. In addition, you’ll work with colleagues in other departments within the division, especially our Publishing Office, Publicity, Marketing Operations, and Editorial groups. The Assistant will be a detail-oriented self-starter, a strong written and verbal communicator, and an organized multitasker who is comfortable asking for help when needed and wants to be an active participant on a collaborative team. If you can manage the details of urgent tasks immediately but also remember to step back, consider the big picture, and adjust your strategy when needed, you’ll assume greater marketing responsibilities over time.
This hybrid position has occasional in-office responsibilities, including but not limited to in-office meetings, mailings, author visits or events, and daily ad hoc administrative projects. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA).
