Putnam is seeking a Marketing Assistant to assist the Associate Publisher, Marketing Director, and the marketing department as a whole.
The position provides an opportunity to immerse yourself in a department that plans campaigns for fiction and nonfiction books and works collaboratively across departments. We consult directly with authors and agents, coordinate internally with our editorial, sales, and publicity colleagues, and work creatively to present our books directly to consumers. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced department.
The Marketing Assistant will be part of the early campaign planning stages and will brainstorm creative promotions, prepare meeting documents and coordinate meetings, assist with mailings, research new promotional opportunities, provide social media support, and help traffic design and sales requests. In addition to providing administrative support, the assistant will regularly liaise with the sales team, editors, designers, publicists, and other marketers in order to facilitate the timely execution of marketing campaigns.
