In this market facing role, you will report directly to the Head of Australia – Institutional Distribution and work in close partnership within the Australia & New Zealand distribution team to actively manage key investor relationships within the region and develop new relationships for QIC.As part of a high-performing and collaborative team, you will help shape the future of QIC’s business development and client engagement strategy in Australia, ensuring high-quality client relationships and delivering new capital where client needs match QIC’s capabilities. You will also play a central role in client and prospect interactions, working closely with distribution, investment, specialist and senior executive colleagues to foster strong holistic relationships and high-value interactions. Your client and market insights will contribute to the delivery of innovative, industry-leading investment solutions for our investors.We’re seeking a team player who thrives in a supportive and highly collaborative team environment and is excited to contribute their new ideas and energy.Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a QIC brand ambassador, representing the organisation with professionalism and authenticity, growing the QIC network in Victoria and beyond, and presenting to management teams of clients and prospects with influence.
  • Build strong relationships internally and externally to maximise your effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Australia – Institutional Distribution and other internal stakeholders to ensure coordinated business development, relationship management, and transparency with all key parties.
  • Champion client advocacy by seeking feedback, promoting the client voice internally, and supporting a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Produce and actively maintain structured engagement plans for key clients and prospects, leveraging a strong understanding of the Australian institutional investment landscape, client business models, and emerging market trends.
  • Develop and execute business development activities, including capital campaigns, prospecting, client meetings, presentations, roadshows, and events in close collaboration with internal distribution and investment teams.
  • Actively manage and deepen client relationships by implementing tailored engagement plans, gathering client intelligence and feedback, resolving issues promptly, and aligning communication strategies with client and consultant preferences.
  • Serve as a primary escalation point for certain client issues, facilitating resolution, managing priorities, and leading commercial negotiations or renewals for existing investments.
  • Focus on delivery of commercial outcomes through various activities, including negotiating and managing commercial arrangements for Investment Management Agreements, addressing at-risk allocations, and ensuring timely delivery of client requests.
  • Optimise insights of investors and our relationships through effective use of CRM systems, ensuring comprehensive documentation of client and prospect interactions, and sharing insights within the business to raise internal knowledge.
  • Seek improvements on how the distribution team and wider business operates, helping uplift the organisation.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in institutional client and business development roles within investment management.
  • Strong understanding of industry drivers, concepts, and processes.
  • Relevant qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Marketing, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Proven record of working in a team to achieve revenue targets through pipeline conversion and cross-selling.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and commercial acumen.
  • Proactive communicator with strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and effective time management.
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in investment and financial markets and product analysis.
  • Effective negotiation and influential capabilities.
  • Experienced user of Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems and reporting tools.
