MANAGER OF COMMUNICATIONS & ADMINISTRATION

Skyridge Montessori is seeking a Manager of Administration & Communications to join our motivated and collaborative team. We strive to foster a supportive work environment in which staff have the freedom to lead, create, and innovate.
Skyridge Montessori has been providing a high-quality Montessori education to families in Squamish for more than10 years. Perched on the side of a mountain, with sweeping views of Howe Sound and endless trails at our doorstep, students from Casa to Grade 9 thrive in our newly constructed school, well-prepared Montessori classrooms, and rich outdoor learning environment.
Our Manager of Communications & Administration will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Head of School and assisting in the delivery of the school’s strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- General: Provide daily administrative support and develop and execute communications activities designed to enhance school community engagement and raise the profile of the Skyridge Montessori to partners, government and the public.
- Admissions: Responsible for admissions activities, including recruitment of prospective families and onboarding and document management of new families.
- Administration: Responsible for answering the phone, completing daily attendance, managing student files, and ordering office and classroom supplies.
- Website: Responsible for administration of the school website using a Content Management System, including regular reviews, execution of content updates, and creation of new site content and associated documents.
- Newsletter: Responsible for coordinating, writing, and editing content for the weekly school newsletter.
- Design and Material Creation: Responsible for designing and producing effective and visually appealing communication materials and digital assets within brand guidelines and established timelines; materials may include signage, forms, family communications, presentations, and promotional materials.
- Events: Responsible for supporting the creation and successful execution of events that may include staff meetings, family events, education evenings, student orientations, and Open Houses.
- Volunteer Coordination: Assist school leaders and teachers to coordinate parent volunteers in support of classroom and whole-school activities.
Qualifications + Experience
- 3+ years experience working in a communications-specific role.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and coordinating digital projects, with proven working knowledge of graphic and web design principles.
- Demonstrated experience administering a public website on behalf of an organization, and engaging audiences while upholding brand reputation.
- Demonstrated experience working with e-marketing and the coordination of contact databases.
- Strong written communication and editing skills, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Highly organized, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities with a positive attitude while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment while consistently demonstrating tact, discretion, and a high degree of confidentiality.
- Experience with Google Workplace and WordPress are significant assets.
- Experience in a non-prodit environment preferred.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
