The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to high quality research and will be able to contribute excellent teaching to the development of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.  You should hold a PhD in Marketing or in a relevant field, have a high-quality track record of publications in leading refereed journals and in securing research income. We are looking for a candidate with an interest in (Responsible)  marketing strategy, consumption behaviour, branding and critical thinking, evidenced through teaching experience across all levels. and high quality outputs related to impact on the grand challenges that society faces today.

This post will be offered on an indefinite contract 

This is a full-time  post – 100% full time equivalent

  • To take a role in the planning, organisation and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate (executive) programmes. 
  • To undertake high-quality research in the subject area, to publish the findings in highly-rated internationally recognised journals and to participate in the major internationally recognised academic networks.
  • To carry out administration as requested by the Executive Dean.
  • Sustain high-quality research activity through a portfolio of individual and/or joint research projects and to secure the funding required for this research as required.
  • Supervise postgraduate research students and/or research staff.
  • Attend meetings and conferences to present research findings and thereby enhance the national and international standing of the School.
  • Take responsibility for the planning, organisation and delivery of both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching activities within the School.
  • Develop and use a variety of methods to assess student learning and provide feedback that is timely, relevant and appropriate.

The above list of responsibilities may not be exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.  

Essential criteria – Lecturer (Grade 7) 

1.       PhD in relevant subject area 

2.       Appropriate list of relevant publications 

3.       Some experience of developing research projects or collaborative funding bids 

4.       Some experience of teaching relevant topics at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level 

5.       Evidence of good research skills 

6.       Evidence of research experience 

7.       Some experience of carrying out academic administration 

8.       Temperament suited to teaching and research 

9.       Experience of being a team player 

10.   Willingness to contribute to the pastoral care of students 

Desirable criteria – Lecturer (Grade 7)

1.       Experience of research and/or teaching in the area of international HRM 

2.       Some experience of innovation in teaching and curriculum design 

3.       Engagement in professional organisations (conference papers, workshops, memberships) 

4.       Willingness to collaborate with colleagues across the Faculty and university 

5.       Research interest in questions about sustainable, inclusive and/or responsible business 

Senior Lecturer (Grade 8)  

Essential criteria 

1.       PhD in relevant subject area 

2.       Appropriate list of relevant publications 

3.       Evidence of world-class research capacity and potential 

4.       Significant experience of developing research projects on collaborative funding bids 

5.       Significant experience of teaching at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level 

6.       Significant experience of carrying out academic administration 

7.       Significant experience of being innovative in teaching and curriculum design 

8.       Significant evidence of research experience 

9.       Engagement in professional organisations (conference papers, workshops, memberships) 

10.   Temperament suitable to teaching and research 

11.   Willingness to contribute to the pastoral care of students 

12.   Desire to promote the subject at all levels 

Desirable criteria 

1.       Willingness to collaborate with colleagues in the Faculty and university 

2.       Experience of being a team player
