About our intern program:

Our competitive intern program offers interns exposure to the business world and a meaningful work experience. Our Marketing Team:

The Marketing team works with the firm and business unit managers to plan and implement strategic marketing and communications plans and programs. Conducts and oversees competitor and client research for the purposes of understanding our key markets/clients. Also reviews, evaluates and activates advertising, community involvement and sponsorship opportunities. This intern works directly with the Marketing teams in planning, developing and implementing programs and effort to effectively communicate Baird’s messages both internally and externally.

Internship Location, Availability, and Hours:

Located in our downtown Milwaukee office, the intern must be able to work part-time during the school semesters, 15-20 hours per week, and full time during the summer, 37.5-40 hours per week. We are seeking a student who can start in May 2024.

As a Marketing Intern, you will:

  • Support the marketing needs of our business units, which takes on many different forms including traditional marketing collateral and advertising, digital marketing (social media, email, digital advertising) and website maintenance
  • Prepare and review letters, flyers, emails, bylined articles, web content and brochures to support the marketing and promotional activities of each business unit
  • Assist with developing and reviewing internal and external communication
  • Conduct research for competitive analysis, advertising, media relations and marketing purposes
  • Collect and help assess data analytics across various digital marketing channels
  • Partner with and coordinate projects across multiple creative services teams within the marketing and communications department
  • Perform other duties in support of team, department and firm projects and activities

What we look for:

  • Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations. Targeting May 2025 or later graduation dates
  • Completed coursework in one or more of the following: marketing communications, public relations, advertising or business writing
  • Strong writing, editing and communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet all deadlines
  • A highly motivated and strategic thinker who takes initiative to learn and contribute to the team
  • Ability and drive to provide strong customer service to all clients and associates
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Experience in Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, MailChimp, Constant Contact, MyEmma or Salesforce Marketing Cloud email software is a plus
  • Prior experience in an office setting is preferred 
  • Prior Marketing experience is a plus but not necessary
  • Interest in or prior experience/coursework in finance or financial markets is a plus but not necessary
