The primary focus of this position is to service and support our sales team through direct connection with key clients to capture and interpret design briefs. This position can work remotely in assigned region as well as in our Cartersville Custom Create Center.Please note the ideal candidate is located in Los Angeles or Las Vegas.Responsibilities:Work directly with key hospitality clients to develop custom carpet solutions through a collaborative environment.Responsible for taking designs from concept to full color product completion.In tandem with Account Managers, take design briefs from clients and independently work through design collaboration to completion.Present artwork and concepts to customers and gather feedback while working through product solutions.Assist customers in choosing color palettes that work best for designs.To research the market for new trends, and the ability to create patterns and color stories for specific markets.Develop exceptional custom design by using Adobe Creative Suite and Nedgraphics.Manage interface between Client, Sales, and Custom Design team members.Utilize industry and machine knowledge to guide customers to the best result.Must be able to identify a problem and implement innovative solutions with little to no assistance.Manage the design process to ensure that key dates/deliverables are met.Conduct project meetings and conference calls with designers, architects and end users.Coordinate pattern and color development as it relates to the full scope of the projectUnderstand the trend in design and color as it relates to each project.Attend and participate in sales meetings and trade shows.Ensure that design requirements meet manufacturing criteria.Review design brief with regional Design Manager to ensure that all information is documented at the start of the project.Stay abreast of competition and competitive information and keep management informed of any changes in market conditions.Working with our sales managers in each area in understanding hospitality sales and their role in the process.Qualifications:Four-year college degree OR High School Diploma/GED and 5+ years equivalent job-related experience in Textile Design or similar field required.Trained in color and design application required.Must have the ability to think creatively outside of conventional concepts required.Understanding of the basic concepts of carpet manufacturing required.Knowledge of and ability to use Nedgraphics Texcelle and Adobe Creative Cloud Applications required.Understanding of carpet estimating and installation required.Although our highly distributed workforce can be found around the globe, Shaw Contract is based out of Cartersville, Georgia in our new highly sustainable, world-class Create Centre facility, which is home to product development and marketing for our commercial division, demonstrating our commitment to hiring the best talent.
