The Opportunity 

GPN has a clear growth ambition in Nordics: to accelerate our growth via stand out brand strategy that drives penetration and long term brand equity across our portfolio of consumer brands.

We are looking for a stand-out Marketer who is passionate about the sports nutrition industry and thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced culture to develop and deliver industry-leading Marketing strategies across the Nordics. As Head of Brand for Nordics you will have global ownership of the Danish-originated Nutramino brand as well as being responsible for maximizing the world’s No1 sports nutrition brand, Optimum Nutrition, across the region, and owning the strategy and execution of the complete Glanbia Performance Nutrition portfolio across the region as it evolves.

You will be a creative and commercially-savvy Marketer with outstanding skills across strategic brand building, campaign development and operational excellence, as well as being a strong and experienced leader and influencer.

More specifically:

For Nutramino, you will be the global brand owner, responsible for maximizing the potential of the brand and ensuring it remains the brand of choice for consumers in the face of rising competition. You will shape and own the complete brand strategy from positioning through to pack designs and you will lead the development and execution of creative campaigns to drive penetration and emotional engagement. You will work closely with the innovation & Insights team to ensure the brand remains at the forefront of delivering consumer needs, and with the commercial team to ensure best in class channel strategy and trade marketing.

For Optimum Nutrition you will lead the development and execution of a stand-out consumer-driven Marketing strategy to accelerate the brand’s performance, leveraging global campaigns combined with locally-developed stories & managing the day to day brand activations across the region.

This permanent position will report to the General Manager, Nutramino & Nordics.

  • Own the Nutramino brand strategy, using insights to optimize brand positioning to maximize consumer demand.
  • Lead the Nordics Marketing team to develop and deliver industry-leading marketing plans that build consumer demand and long term brand equity in the Nordics region, for both Nutramino and Optimum Nutrition
  • Ensure the right people are in the right roles to execute that strategy, and skillfully lead the team to success
  • Support the evolution of the 3-5 year strategic plans for Nutramino and the Nordic region
  • Drive close collaboration with International and Global brand teams for Optimum Nutrition
  • Lead and develop the annual ABPs in close collaboration with General Manager, Commercial leads, Finance and Digital commerce Center of Excellence
  • Develop and implement multi- channel activations for all key marketing initiatives, including media plans, talent, new product development , events and loyalty building mechanics, and implementing both above and below the line executions.
  • Manage external & internal agencies in the delivery of marketing tools/activities
  • Work closely with the commercial team to maximize sales activations across the region
  • Work closely with the innovation team to identify, develop, and launch new products and to optimize the existing portfolio, playing a leading role particularly for the Nutramino brand
  • Drive the insights agenda, ensuring the consumer is placed at the heart of decision making and strategy.

The Skills you will bring to the team

  • Proven brand marketing experience within consumer goods environment.
  • Strong understanding of full marketing mix including brand positioning and developing new opportunities through consumer insight
  • A passion for sports & healthy lifestyle and an instinctive understanding of sports and lifestyle nutrition.
  • Proven track record driving a digital strategy and online engagement with social media as the key driver.
  • Obsessive about consumer intimacy, and highly experienced in developing consumer-driven brand strategy and leveraging insights to unlock opportunities
  • Experienced at closely managing budgets and maximizing ROI
  • Highly competent working in a global network organizing, balancing global vs local needs.
  • Experience in agency management, strategic marketing, creative development, brand planning and new product development
  • An excellent communicator with outstanding influencing skills at a senior level.
  • High energy, high creativity but able to work through the fundamentals and the detail too.
  • Results orientated strategic thinker and creative problem solver.
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
