In the role of Global Merchandise Solutions Manager, you will be responsible for leading the solutions pod team, to advance merchandising capabilities in support of the long-term Merchandising Strategy. You will work with different functions within the organization to coordinate efforts towards the successful implementation of a data driven merchandising approach. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to design and deploy different merchandising processes and tools. You will contribute to the adoption and implementation of a data driven / analytical approach for merchandising across the business. The ideal candidate has a strategic and analytical mindset, as well as strong prioritization, interpersonal and leadership skills to influence key stakeholders. This role reports into the Global Merchandising Solutions Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Owning the development and advancement of a designated merchandising capability area through tool development, process improvement, or other actions in support of Merchandising Strategic Planning team’s vision.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and business unit teammates to build capability development plan, identify potential testing opportunities, and refine in-market approach in support of capability area.

  • Partnering with the Global D&A team on the development of tools and enablers to support the adoption of a data driven merchandising approach.

  • Providing guidance to Global Tech teams in the development of merchandising tools in respective capability area, sourcing business requirements and monitoring progress, as needed.

  • Collaborate with Merchandising Operations leads to gain broader stakeholder buy-in for proposed tools or ways of working.

  • Manage performance of ongoing solution development, reporting to Global Merchandising Solutions Director and ensuring cohesive messaging to broader business leadership.

  • Leading various types of development projects related to merchandising capabilities and processes, focused on scalability.

  • Working with partners to determine reporting, tools and data needs to support data driven decision making, working collaboratively with BUs and other Global functions.

  • Working closely with Merchandising Strategic Planning to ensure on-time delivery of solution development milestones and financial performance tracking.

  • Collaborating closely with Merchandising Training and Development to integrate new tools, processes, and ways of working into ongoing merchandising and category manager training.

  • Managing 2 analysts in the ongoing development and refinement of solution areas.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Finance, Merchandising, Marketing or related field.

  • 3 to 5 years of work experience (retail merchandising or strategy consulting experience preferred).

  • Demonstrated success working closely with senior executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to drive change across an organization.

  • Ability to deal well with ambiguity, complexity, change and pace. Comfortable managing multiple projects and tasks, prioritizing amongst them.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with strong ability to synthesize and simplify complex ideas into compelling presentations.

  • Strategic / analytical mindset with an ability to think broadly, refine questions, and develop strategic frameworks and executional approaches.

  • Tangible interest and awareness of the latest merchandising technologies and how they support a merchandising organization’s competitive positioning and operational efficiency.

  • Experience in a supervisory role, managing and developing people.

  • CATMAN experience is a strong asset.

  • Strong proficiency with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, & related Microsoft suite products.

  • Travel required 30% of time, some international. Passport or travel documentation/visa required.

  • Flexibility around working hours required, due to global scope of role and working across time zones.
