Global Marketing Manager: Strategic Project Knees Job Detail

General Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Projects Knees, the Global Marketing Manager has global marketing responsibility for the planning and execution of strategic projects across the entire knee portfolio.

Independently or as part of a cross-functional team, the Manager will work towards the development and execution of the overall knee solution value proposition, will drive the management of activities that are shaping and simplifying the knee portfolio, and will start and implement projects that directly impact the profitable growth of the knee portfolio.

Responsibilities also include stakeholder management, portfolio life cycle activities and market research.

The Global marketing manager will lead and collaborate with internal and external partners and act as the owner of programs that will support the worldwide S+N commercial organization. Team leadership involves creating and fostering a team culture, one that supports and promotes collaboration with the other cross functional teams to ensure an aligned commercial approach.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and own the knee strategic plans and portfolio simplification activities, including but not limited to:
  • Development of strategy and yearly aligned business plans, including portfolio Life Cycle strategy – validate through VOC activities and alignment with regions
  • Manage WW surgeon consultants and assist with innovation and advisory boards
  • Support the development and execution of the Knee solution value proposition, aligned to the overall knee business strategy, including but not limited to:
  • Collaborate with a cross functional team and regions.
  • Actively participate in building the knee business strategy and ensure alignment with the overall business strategy.
  • Validate the knee solution value proposition through VOC activities and alignment with regional KOLs
  • Support the launch of the value proposition together with regions. Hand over to regions for localization.
  • Create marketing literature for the full knee solution: Including customer facing materials, sales training materials, med ed modules, etc.
  • Partner with clinical team for evidence & research needs to build evidence supporting the Value proposition
  • Manage portfolio mix shift, aligned to overall strategy, including brand exit strategies:
  • Develop proposals for portfolio mix shift including product exit strategies & phase out plans together with supply & manufacturing teams to ensure LCM activities are aligned across business
  • Work with the regions to execute on phase in, phase out plans & play lead role in monitoring portfolio mix shift to plan
  • Partner with the supply team on NPD forecast, build plans and set cadence
  • Review of global capex and forecasting & lead communication from supply to regional teams.
  • Prioritization of key markets, and allocation when in supply constraints.
  • Deep market knowledge:
  • Ongoing insights and interactions with markets and customers.
  • Be the expert in the knee orthopedic field, through market research, clinical papers, conference attendance, KOL discussions

Requirements:

Education: B.S. degree required. MBA preferred.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of marketing and strategic marketing experience specific to medical device marketing. Prior orthopedic experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a business/franchise strategy.
  • Experience with managing and influencing internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written & verbal.
  • Ability to influence at all levels in an organization; excellent collaboration and negotiation skills. Innovative approach with self-motivation and resiliency.
