The role of the General Manager of Performance Marketing is to oversee the Performance Marketing activity for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, managing multi-million-pound budgets. The successful candidate will lead an established and high-performing in-house performance team and be focused on achieving results.

Their responsibilities will include the planning, management, and analysis of investment to drive a significant share of bookings on our web and app platforms.

You’ll be a key member of the Digital Team, as well as the broader Senior Marketing Management team. This is a pivotal commercial role within the Jet2.com and Jet2holidays business, with significant C-Suite access and exposure.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead an in-house Performance Marketing Department spanning Paid Search (PPC), App Marketing, Paid Social, Display and Programmatic, Affiliates and Aggregators (Digital Performance Partnerships).
  • Being responsible for managing a high-performing management team to ensure our Performance Marketing channels are planned & executed in line with channel and business objectives.
  • Responsible for allocating, investing and optimising significant multi-million-pound budgets across all performance channels to meet performance & business goals.
  • Forecasting investment and performance at channel level.
  • Drive best-in-class adoption and application of digital marketing methods and strategy across all performance marketing channels with dedicated and tailored support from our suppliers.
  • Driving a holistic testing strategy to ensure continual improvement of the channel and overall multi-channel performance. Test and learn mindset.
  • Utilise data-driven methodology, analysis, and measurement to improve effectiveness and efficiency across all performance channels.
  • Keep the business up to date with potential risks and / or opportunities regarding investment.
  • Ensure all expenditure is the effective use of money and generate appropriate ROI, supporting the management and monitoring of budgets on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Ensure that a clear record of all expenditures is kept and reported and that all Purchase Orders are raised before the activity is committed to, showing financial responsibility and accountability within your teams.
  • Ensure effective management of suppliers against SLAs.
  • Lead, input, and own a single Performance Marketing roadmap with individual channel items so that we are always progressing and moving forward with clear plans (supported by channel managers with each channel roadmap owned by accountable manager).
  • Business forecasting across all digital channels aligning to business targets and channel contribution.
  • Taking the lead in managing and mentoring team members, empowering them to deliver exceptional results and fostering their professional development.
  • Lead, build and influence external relationships with senior leadership across performance marketing partners such as Google, Microsoft, Meta, Criteo, Skyscanner etc., for commercial & performance benefits.
  • Lead, build and influence external relationships with senior leadership across performance marketing technology for commercial & performance benefits.
  • Manage our chosen GMP (Google Marketing Platform) Partner to drive the best performance from tools such as Search Ads 360, Campaign Manager etc. As well as holding relationships with senior figures at GMP.

  • Increased Marketing Effectiveness and growth across Performance Channels, focusing on CPA & ROI efficiency.
  • Multi-channel growth with a focus on diversifying media investment into untapped opportunities.
  • Department success planning including leading a high performing team.
  • Improving operational processes, leveraging automation, and identifying scalable solutions.

What we’re looking for:

  • extensive previous experience working in a biddable media environment, managing large-scale, complex, results-driven projects with significant budgets, within an agency or large-scale in-house environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Be a team leader and player with experience or ability to develop and motivate an in-house team.
  • Proven internal and external stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen. Ability to lead conversations with senior stakeholders.
  • Robust numerical and data analysis skills, with the ability to provide actionable recommendations.
  • You should strive to be ahead of industry trends, advising and responding to new technological developments and opportunities within your field.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with strong project management skills.
  • Highly proficient user of MS Office, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
