Job description: Harvey Norman Commercial Division is looking for an Entry to Mid-Level PHP / Magento Developer to join our growing team in Taren Point.The role will focus on the development and maintenance of our current websites and developing new websites. You will work as part of a small marketing team and will be required to communicate internally with other division and staff.RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the development and maintenance of Magento 2 and WordPress websites
• Contribute to the design and implementation of features and enhancements across our websites
• Help troubleshoot and fix bugs or issues on existing websites
• Work with senior developers to integrate websites with internal IT systems and third-party platforms
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices
• Participate in code reviews, QA, and testing activities
• Provide technical support and regular updates to internal teams
• Assist in monitoring website performance and making recommendations for improvement
• Stay up to date with web development technologies, especially Magento and PHP frameworks

REQUIREMENTS

• 1-3 years of experience with Magento 2 development (personal or professional projects accepted)
• Some experience or understanding of WordPress development
• Good knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Basic experience with MySQL and writing simple database queries
• Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and working within structured development processes
• Willingness to learn and work with technologies such as Nginx, Apache, ReactJs, Linux, or Azure
• Understanding of object-oriented programming principles
• Familiarity with Git or version control systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude

BONUS SKILLS (Not Required)

• Experience building or customizing Magento themes or extensions
• Some Exposure to or interest in working with REST APIs or GraphQL
• Basic understanding of SEO best practices
• Interest in PWA, Headless Magento, or other emerging frontend technologies
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure
• Knowledge of responsive design principles

You will work alongside a team of graphic designers and will need to be able to take ideas from concept to completion
