We are looking for an enthusiastic Intern to join our Email+Mobile marketing team working on our marketing and transactional campaigns on a 12-month placement. This placement is ideally suited to a student currently undertaking an undergraduate degree, with a passion for Digital Marketing and Technology.
From day one, our placement students are fully integrated into Team Hilton and are involved in different aspects of the business. Our placements offer vast exposure and opportunities, such as the opportunity to network with senior executives, involvement in regional conferences and for some, international travel.
Based in our Glasgow Corporate Office, you will benefit from our social area, including a table tennis and pool table. We offer free Nespresso coffee, a great range of teas and seasonal fruit, all of which can be enjoyed in one of our many comfy breakout areas. Our office is super conveniently located; we can be found right in the city centre at 191 West George Street. We’re a five-minute walk from Central & Queen Street Train Stations, and Buchanan Street Subway and only metres from several bus stops.
Within the EMEA Corporate offices, you will be part of a cohort of 40+ Interns, working across various corporate teams and involved in our leading Intern programme. This includes regular connect meetings, short assignments and feedback sessions designed to support your development.
The Opportunity
The Hilton Email+Mobile Marketing team uses customer and guest insights to evolve and deliver personalised experiences for our customers and guests. You will be the champion of possibility for our channel that will drive engagement and grow customer loyalty for all Hilton brands. We are looking for an enthusiastic, curious, and innovative team member with a dream to think beyond the day-to-day and envision what could be.
As an intern you will be an integral part of the Email+Mobile Marketing team, collaborating with industry leading digital marketers on global campaigns using revolutionary technologies to transform our guests and customers experiences. This will involve implementing new journey campaigns, enhancing existing technologies and processes while also delivering insights to help improve our channel performance.
Some of the more specific responsibilities you may undertake are detailed as follows:
- Assist with the strategy, development, and execution of our marketing and transactional email campaigns and mobile In App Messaging and push, using Braze, our Email Service Provider (ESP).
- Support the creative solution improvement of design, process or technical challenges related to email and mobile projects.
- Monitor and analyse key performance metrics for email and mobile marketing and transactional campaigns, to generate insights and recommendations for campaign optimisation.
- Have awareness of the email and mobile industry and stay updated on industry trends and best practices to help influence and drive improvements across the team.
- Strong problem prevention, solving and resolution skills from both analytical and conceptual opportunities.
- Have project coordination and analytical skills.
- Proactive and organised individual who can handle their workload to meet deadlines and quality expectations across multiple projects and issues, while also thriving in a close-knit team environment that relies on open communication to fuel improvements and collaboration.
- Establish good partnerships with outside vendors, internal constituents, and other departments to support open collaborative communication.

What are we looking for?
As with any job, we do have certain criteria that you will need to meet to be considered for one of these highly sought-after opportunities. These are detailed as follows:
- First and foremost, Hilton is a hospitality company, and we are looking for individuals with a strong sense of alignment to our culture and values.
- Must be in your second year of undergraduate study at the point of application studying a degree with a year in industry.
- Must be studying a degree with a focus on Hospitality, Business/Marketing management or Technology.
- Must be available to start in July 2024, for the full 12-month duration.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK. If you are a non-UK national, without EU Settled or Pre-Settled Status then you will need to be studying at a UK university to be eligible to undertake a placement here.
- Must be fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
- The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in Hospitality Management, Marketing or Technology implementation.
- A candidate with good working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JSON, and a pro-active and organised approach is highly sought after for this role.
- A positive, can-do attitude.
- Exceptional attention to detail is a must for this role.

Once you have been on placement with us you are part of Team Hilton and whilst we cannot always guarantee an offer of employment after your studies, we like to keep in touch.
