Apply today and join us for a life-changing career.The positionDue to the growth and increased importance of Medical & Science within device development, we are now splitting the area into two departments and are therefore looking for a Director/Senior Director to work closely with the current Senior Director, driving the area forward. You will report to the Vice President of Medical & Science Centre of Expertise and be part of the leadership team in Medical & Science Centre of Expertise within Medical Science Innovation. As our new team leader, you will take on the role as the department manager for a team of medical and scientific experts within assigned medical device projects.Your main responsibilities will be focused on:
- Performance management, task prioritization and scoping of Medical & Science related activities in accordance with business needs and approved project strategies and plans
- Recruiting and continuous development of team members
- Maintaining and optimising processes and ensuring compliance of department and deliverables with external and internal requirements
- Driving the clinical development plans and clinical evaluation to secure the safety and performance of our devices incl. SaMD (software as medical devices)
- Collaborating closely with other leaders in Medical & Science Centre of Expertise and take an active part in developing the VP area
The position will require up to 5% travel. You should be willing to move to Denmark and work in an international arena. Novo Nordisk will support you and your family with the relocation.QualificationsTo be successful in this role, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- University degree as a Medical Doctor. Scientific training at PhD level or similar is an advantage
- It is an advantage if you have documented experience within product development and people management
- Ideally, expertise in medical device development, including concepts such as Clinical Evaluation, Clinical Development Plans, Design Control, Safety Risk Management, MDR and other relevant legislation/guidelines
- Excellent communicator and presenter with good command of written and spoken English

We appreciate curiosity, empathy, and a good sense of humor as well as a wish to understand yourself even better and explore development opportunities.About the departmentThe department Medical & Science Devices & Digital Health has the medical responsibility over the growing portfolio of medical devices in Novo Nordisk. This includes drug delivery devices, such as pen-injectors, devices with connectivity features, novel technology platforms supporting the administration and use of new treatments, injection needles and software classified as a medical device. The responsibility of the department covers the entire device lifecycle from early research to post-approval life-cycle management.The team works in a highly cross-organizational fashion, typically at the interface between drug and device development. Interactions involve a multitude of internal stakeholders with diverse backgrounds including device R&D, Clinical Reporting, Commercial, Clinical Operations, Marketing and Regulatory Affairs. Key external stakeholders include the medical and scientific community and health authorities.The department is part of the VP area Medical & Science Centre of Expertise in Clinical Development and Project Leadership. The Medical & Science Centre of Expertise connects the organization, supports strategy, and drives scientific medical deliverables. We collaborate across projects and with academic partners, ensuring high scientific standards and fostering clinical trial innovation.
