Position Summary

The Director of Residential Marketing will be a key member of the Residential team at SmartCentres REIT and will be responsible for the organization and coordination of the residential marketing program. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Residential and working alongside Sales and Leasing, this role is an important part of a dynamic team acting as the conduit between interdepartmental and external groups.

The ideal candidate will be expected to take a proactive and entrepreneurial approach to execute the successful product launch. The selected candidate will be a friendly, welcoming point of contact for various internal and external stakeholders. They will be responsible for improving systems, maximizing value, and developing efficiencies in a busy, bustling office.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall creative and execution of marketing campaigns for condo, rental, and community projects;
  • Be the key liaison between interdepartmental marketing groups;
  • Manage the creation of marketing materials including social media campaigns and email campaigns;
  • Implement marketing campaigns for projects and/or activation projects;
  • Manage multiple residential marketing projects, including market research, maintenance of sales and leasing data, and report preparation;
  • Be responsible for the promotion and updating of ongoing internal communications, flatscreens, posters, walls of fame, lobby displays, internal blog, and eblasts where applicable;
  • Accurately produce marketing materials in a timely manner;
  • Be responsible for tracking the marketing budget and spend on projects assigned;
  • Assist with planning community events and project openings (requires flexibility to work weekends and evenings as required);
  • Manage the coordination with external PR firms, publications, media outlets on press release and media coverage;

Academic/Professional Requirements:

  • University degree required.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 10+ years of marketing experience, ideally in the real estate industry or professional services;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Impeccable with organization and time-management;
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, detail-oriented, and resourceful with a strong desire to learn;
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Digitally savvy, including active and professional customer-facing user of social media or instant messaging programs;
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint);
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel to communities, when required.
  • Knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop & InDesign) is a bonus
