Director of Marketing Analytics, Operations & Optimization

Job Description

We’re seeking a Director of Analytics, Operations and Optimization, responsible for leading our data-driven understanding of our business, customers, segments, channels, and campaigns, and leading smooth-running marketing operations and continuous optimization! You will understand past performance and build models to forecast performance, leverage data to make marketing mix and budget recommendations, and represent the source of truth with dashboards, reports, and ad hoc analyses for marketing performance.

This leader will report to the Vice President of Demand Generation and manage a small team, including contractors and agencies. You’ll closely work with other members of the marketing team, Sales, Operations, and Customer Success to measure and achieve our overall go-to-market, revenue, and retention goals. You’ll bring your expertise and track record to help ServiceChannel achieve high growth in its 9-figure ARR business!

Key Responsibilities

  • You will partner with the marketing team and others involved with our data to build end-to-end tracking, measurement, and visualization of marketing performance, including dashboards and detailed automated reporting
  • Perform ad hoc analyses and deep dives to understand the root causes of specific issues or challenges, provide opportunities and insights, and present actionable recommendations
  • You will support Marketing with web, paid channel, and unpaid channel analytics and insights, using analytics tools to monitor and report on campaign performance and assist the team with optimizing campaigns based on data-driven insights and A/B testing results.
  • You will collaborate with Marketing and other groups on designing experiments, and you will deliver the results of experiments and recommendations
  • You will be responsible for our MarTech stack ranging from Google Analytics, CRM system, email automation, 6Sense, SEO tools, and be a super user of other in-house technology like Segment. You’ll also use external data such as Apollo, 6Sense, UserGems, and additional data sets to inform and inspire team members.
  • You will build and effectively communicate data stories to executives and key stakeholders via presentations, written summaries, and data visualizations.
  • You’ll contribute to and enhance a campaign measurement framework to ensure ongoing management aligned with the marketing funnel critical metrics as well as pipeline, bookings, and revenue targets.
  • Own accurate forecasting models, and consistently report on delivery against targets, including establishing templatized scorecards against the full funnel for an aligned, comprehensive view on Marketing performance across segments, channels, geographies and products.
  • Assist in the quarterly budgeting process and track marketing budget actuals to target and evaluate efficacy of spend
  • Own and manage campaign operations; including email and newsletter sends, audience segmentation, landing page creation, webinar ops, program integrations, list uploads and lead flow management.
  • As a manager of people and leader within the Marketing team:
  • Motivate team members, Marketing colleagues, cross-functional colleagues, and agencies to support all of the above, primarily demand gen and campaigns via digital/online channels.
  • Apply your experience in project management to initiatives and campaigns that include internal collaborators and external agencies
  • Partner with other Marketing functions to develop and optimally implement programs and campaigns
  • Lead and grow your team, providing training and development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental initiatives to ensure digital marketing efforts are integrated and aligned with marketing and sales objectives.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience creating, executing, and leading digital marketing in B2B high-tech industries.
  • Enterprise and commercial/mid-market marketing experience is required; experience also marketing to SMB and B2C is a plus.
  • Strategic, creative, and analytical problem solver with the ability to build creative digital marketing campaigns that have a measurable impact on pipeline.
  • Data-driven, with a firm grasp on metrics and performance indicators.
  • Marketing technology competence, with a knowledge of tools necessary for effective digital marketing.
  • Demonstrated track record of working with cross-functional teams to achieve revenue and retention goals, taking a team-first and company-first approach
  • You’re comfortable leading change and know what it takes from a people, systems, and processes standpoint to optimize the predictable revenue engine
  • Accountable for results, with the ability to work collaboratively across sales, marketing and operations teams to achieve these results
  • Problem solving skills to identify and solve complex problems.
  • Comfortable working on a hard-working team that is constantly challenging itself.
  • Can-do, positive, inspiring attitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, while still ensuring high quality results and a strong attention to detail.
  • BA/BS degree.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • MBA or equivalent experience preferred.

National: The salary range for this position is $97,000- $180,100

This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.

Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location. The Total Rewards package includes competitive base pay and an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and several programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work.
