JOB SUMMARY:
Plans and directs the public information program for the inaugural College of Veterinary Medicine for Clemson University. Leads the marketing and communications team to develop, prepare, edit, coordinate and disseminate information and educational materials. Provides leadership in the development of print and online content to accomplish and advance the marketing, communications and public relations efforts for the College. Writes and/or edits articles and other content for College- and University-level online newsrooms, newsletters, webpages, printed materials and other communications, and for individual departments and schools within the College. Oversees writing post-press releases and maintenance of blogs and social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
45% – Essential – Content Development:
Develops and produces written content for college reports and internal and external marketing pieces. Develops and produces e-newsletters, HTML emails and other e-communications, print publications and marketing materials. Edits manuscripts and publications, conducts interviews, researches, writes and produces content for all marketing outlets to increase awareness of the College’s mission and strengths. Writes speeches and scripts and develops presentations for executive events.
20% – Essential – Develops and Oversees Marketing Strategy:
As part of the Dean’s leadership team, develops and executes the College of Veterinary Medicine’s marketing strategic plan, including monthly assessment and reporting of accomplishments. Develops and implements new and emerging strategies for communication. Closely collaborates with others in the Division of University Marketing and Communications to ensure the College is represented in University and external publications.
20% – Essential – Leadership and Oversight:
Oversees and leads the work of the College of Veterinary Medicine’s marketing and communications team, including analysis of opportunities and needs, assignments and publications. Oversees the development and production of marketing and communications content, including magazines, press releases, social media and other projects. Serves as editor-in-chief to ensure accuracy of publications and alignment with strategic plans.
15% – Essential – Manages Leadership’s Social Media Accounts: Serves as the direct manager of the social media accounts of College leadership. Is solely responsible for published content and maintenance/monitoring of accounts to ensure alignment with the College’s and University’s strategic plans.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree and experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years related experience

Standard Hours: 37.5/week
Expected salary range: $ 81,388.00 – $ 95,000.00

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
